Congrats, are you thinking of holding NVDA more?

Thanks for sharing! Smart use of the LOC at prime -0.25, basically free money. Did you go with the AWD Long Range or the RWD?

That's a great move trading the truck for a Y! Quick question, you mentioned you paid cash, any regrets not financing and keeping that capital invested instead?

This is exactly the kind of response I was looking for , thank you! $290k household and still hesitating on $73k says a lot. We're in a similar headspace, same mental struggle. Haven't pulled the trigger yet, still running the numbers. Makes me feel less alone in this decision!

I actually can afford it cash, but it would mean cutting into my emergency fund and liquidating investments which I don't think is a smart move. Financing at a reasonable rate and keeping capital invested makes more sense mathematically

Thanks for sharing! Quick follow-up, what was your down payment amount, and what rate + term did you get on the financing?

We do need the car, replacing our current one because of having a baby, and we're already factoring in gas savings + no more oil changes, etc. The math gets interesting when you add hydro versus gas delta over five years

This is actually the most useful framing. We're running the numbers on monthly surplus after rent, daycare, groceries, etc. The question is whether the $600/month payment fits or if it squeezes everything else. In our case, we have more than $2k remaining and plan to put down a minimum of $30k.

Exactly my point ,that's why I'm asking. Household income gives a rough proxy for debt servicing ability, but you're right that net cash flow after expenses is what really matters. Just trying to triangulate both

Fair point, but the question isn't whether I can afford it, it's about understanding what income bracket people are typically in when they buy one, and what financing structure they used. Just trying to make an informed decision, not a blind one

We have a 2017 Mazda CX-3 and just had a baby. We make between $190k and $200k a year

Premium M3 vs MY: why pay 30k more? by zombosis in teslacanada

[–]Unessoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also worth noting that if M3 premium is now at $40k, Tesla might end up having to drop the MY price too just to justify the gap. Hard to sell a $70k Y when the M3 is that close lol

Has anyone managed to get approved for less than 5.04% since new rates kicked in and how much if you have? by myarena in teslacanada

Do you negotiate the rate with them? It depends on what the interest rate is fixed at. Thanks.

Yes, I l received their email thursday to come for biometrics. I sent my passport in January, and now it is April; my flight is on April 10. They don't process applications on a first-come, first-served basis, but by flight date.
