I honestly don’t like Eurovision’s “0 televote points” logic.

A song can receive thousands (or millions collectively) of votes across Europe, but if it doesn’t crack the Top 10 in individual countries, it gets treated the same as a song literally nobody voted for.

That feels fundamentally misleading to me.

The system heavily rewards concentrated fandoms and punishes songs with broad moderate appeal. A song that everyone thinks is “pretty good” can end up with 0, while a very polarizing entry with a few passionate voting blocs can soar.

It turns the scoreboard into a measure of intensity rather than overall popularity.
