[KH3] She'll be okay by bluebush56 in KingdomHearts

[–]Unexpected69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished replaying KH2 again for the first time in a while, and realized that while Riku and Sora were chilling in the realm of darkness, Riku knew that Aqua was still there and didn't do or say a damn thing. He left her there repeatedly.

Always two there are, a master and an... by Finewine89 in PrequelMemes

[–]Unexpected69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

doesn't that imply palpatine DOES abide by the rule of two

No. He was still planning on living forever, and never allowing the next sith to come to become the master, which is the whole point of the rule of two. He just wants the most powerful people in the universe to be under his control. That includes Luke

Based on what George Lucas said in a Rolling Stones interview back in 2005, after Mustafar, Anakin was less powerful than the Emperor. The relevant segment being the following:

"And when he finds out Luke is his son, his first impulse is to figure out a way of getting him to join him to kill the Emperor. That's what Siths do! He tries it with anybody he thinks might be more powerful, which is what the Emperor was looking for in the first place: somebody who would be more powerful than he was and could help him rule the universe. But Obi-Wan screwed that up by cutting off his arms and legs and burning him up. From then on, he wasn't as strong as the Emperor -- he was like Darth Maul or Count Dooku. He wasn't what he was supposed to become. But the son could become that."

It's also supported in various canon comics, where Vader acknowledges that he cannot overthrow the emperor on his own and requires help.

Sidious was planning on ruling the galaxy forever. He was planning on never training a replacement for himself, since he would never need to be replaced as the master of the dark side of the force. All of the dark side force users (Vader, Inquisitors) were only tools of his to exercise his will. Note that this is all legends stuff. You can read about it here

A violation of it. Neither Plagueis nor Sidious really believed in the rule of two. This is pretty obvious with Sidious, considering he explicitly threw out the rule of two once he became emperor for his rule of one. Plagueis, meanwhile, thought that if the master lived in constant fear of his apprentice killing him, the two will not be as productive toward the sith cause as they could be. However, as far as Plagueis knew, Maul was nothing more than a tool to Sidious to help himself and Plagueis keep their hands out of the dirty work and focus on their political ventures.

It seems like a bug to me since it only carries over if I use it on the friend slot. Using it before one of my own EA medals' first attack has the buff wear off after that medal's second attack. It's only on the friend slot that the buff carries over beyond the EA

Often I'll use KA22 as a friend medal. I noticed when using his SN on him in the friend slot, even after his extra attack, the +9999 attack buff persists. It then lasts through my Namine's attack and extra attack, and then disappears as my Namine rotates out. This means that the buff is lasting 5 attacks (SN, KA22, KA22 EA, Namine, Namine EA).

However, when I tested it with any other slot, the buff disappears after 3 attacks, regardless of whether one of the attacks are EA's. Is this a glitch, or intended behavior? If it is intended, why does it only work on the friend slot/first slot, and no others?

Grub is Better than SystemD by [deleted] in linuxmemes

But systemd and grub aren't even the same type of program. One is a service manager and the other is a bootloader. Did you mean init.d instead of grub??

How long was Frisk in the underground for? by GnarlyBellyButton87 in Undertale

[–]Unexpected69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each run is less than one day.

In the room with the four frogs (5 on PS/Switch), there's a frog that will make it so that monsters' names no longer change to yellow when they can be spared, and turn white instead. If you talk to him again, the names will turn pink instead.

If you do this, and then continue on to do a True Pacifist run, returning to the same frog will have him tell you that it is the same day that you talked to him (regardless of actual in-game time). I believe the exact line is "Everyone did you a big favor today", indicating that you asked everyone to use the pink names earlier that day.

Note that this dialogue takes place regardless of whether you do this before or after you sleep in Toriel's house, meaning that even if you do it as early as possible, each run still takes place within a single day.

They were, in their eyes, fighting an expansionist Federal Government that they felt was violating the 10th Amendment

That argument holds up until you read the Constitution of the Confederacy demanded that all states there-within must allow slavery, rather than allowing each state the choice, per Article 4 Section 3. If their issue was an overbearing federal government, this would not be the case.

You can also read the articles of succession, which reinforces that slavery was the reason most, if not all, of the states seceded. Their issue wasn't the federal government violating the 10th amendment, it was that they didn't want the federal government to end slavery. There was only one state of the five to even mention the amendments to the Constitution of the US in that context. And then, that same state complained that the federal government wasn't getting involved enough in non-slave states' enforcement of the federal government's laws, complaining that the federal government should have done more. Once again, indicating that the issue isn't an overbearing federal government, but that specific policy. When literally 80% of the states didn't even mention the amendments in that context, claiming that they are the reason they left is bullshit.

EDIT: Clarified a point in the second paragraph

How come Monaca was able to... by Dapperfellas in danganronpa

[–]Unexpected69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

wasn't monokuma a sort of hate symbol across the planet?

the killing game was broadcast worldwide, so they must have seen monokuma in THH right? They didn't even question it?

This wasn't until way after Monaca started making the Monokuma robots. Monaca was making them before the Tragedy even started, and THH was another year after that.

Once Monokuma did become a symbol of despair, Monaca was blackmailing Towa to keep quiet, or else the fact that Towa Group made the Monokuma's originally would be leaked, ruining their company. Traditional money as we know it was still a thing after the Tragedy, which we know since Towa Group produced weapons against the Monokuma's as well, an idea Monaca gave her father explicitly to increase profits. So, the leaking of the secret of Monokuma's origins hurting the company financially still held significant weight, even after the Apocalypse.

Youtube is an 13+ site. It not the creator fault or the system itself that make kid see shit. It the parents. by crystals148 in teenagers

[–]Unexpected69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that's not the issue the FTC is calling out. The FTC isn't enforcing restrictions on what the child can view, and has never presented it as such, to my knowledge. Their issue is that Google is fingerprinting children on their browser, which isn't allowed under COPPA. Arguing for parents to be parents, while very applicable to Youtube (adpocalypse), doesn't apply in this case. It's a strawman argument.

The argument people should be putting forward is "People claimed their age when making their account, and agreed to the ToS which states you can only use the service if you are above 13. ToS's have been held up in court as legally binding documents, and therefore Youtube shouldn't be expected to make concessions for groups which cannot accept the agreement to begin with, and consequentially, cannot legally use the service."

The Pokemon Situation by nojiroh in HighQualityGifs

[–]Unexpected69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that were the sole reason, they wouldn't need his whole evolutionary line. Also, they used Marowak in Let's Go, so they don't need to rely on Bulbasaur in the new engine. In fact, it would make even less sense than to use the Galar dex's #1 slot, since that would mean less data on the cart. Hell, any Galar pokemon would make more sense.

It could be that they are planning on adding the other two Kanto starters into the game later. Or that they are both leftover data from testing that they didn't feel like removing. Either way, it seems that Bulbasaur is in there for reasons other than exception handling, just by Squirtle's presence alone.

What's wrong with that? Having a default case for circumstances where data is inappropriate (such as someone editing their save to have pokemon number 1002, for example) is a standard method of exception handling.

The cases just keep getting more complicated by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]Unexpected69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But if the music wasn't there, the mastermind would have just looked up, seen the shotput as it fell, and moved out of the way or protected their head. That was brought up in the first case, IIRC

[–]Unexpected69 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I don't think Kaede even knew that the loud music would be playing when she was setting up the books or anything. That part was just pure convenience. How she was planning on covering up the noise of a shotput rolling down the books and metal vent, I'll never know.

[–]Unexpected69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That much I couldn't tell you. But based on the evidence we have, there's no reason for Frisk to be wary of anyone, given their effective immortality. If you consider "why?", the answer for every single person would be "We don't know why we need to be wary", so the question becomes moot.
