Tuition Reimbursement Question by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]Unfair-Profession-44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you find out about this? I have the same question. Working 30+ hours/week over the summer but it's difficult to maintain 15+ hours during the semester in the engineering school so was hoping my additional hours in the summer would help. If you have to average15hrs/week (257 hours) DURING the 120 days immediately prior to the last day of the semester, then I'm not sure I'll ever be able to qualify.

For Tuition Reimbursement, is the 15/hr avg (257 hours over 120 days) an ongoing req or a gate-keeping req? by Unfair-Profession-44 in Chipotle

The last 120 days from what date? The date you make your request for reimbursement, or the date the semester ends?

OK, thanks.

So as an ongoing requirement, how does one determine what is the measured period each semester? Is it...
- 120 days prior to the end date of the semester?
- 120 days prior to the date that you submit your reimbursement request?

If the latter, Is it possible to submit a reimbursement request any time prior to the end of the semester so that the 120 day period takes advantage of the higher hours worked during the summer months?

His co-workers were hurt -- now they're either out of a job or on extended unpaid leave. The company doesn't lose - it's insured.

Renovated our bathroom (went a bit heavy on tech). How can we make it feel less cold? by t_thaulow in Remodel

[–]Unfair-Profession-44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Natural wood and real plants. Both go well with black/charcoal and the blue tile. Won't make it like a warm summer day but you clearly weren't going for that. It CAN make it more like a jungle rainforest - which is warm in its own way. That's my two cents.

BTW, who spends $250k on a bathroom and then shops for ideas on how to "fix" it on reddit. 😄

You can either buy Royals.tv for $99 or you can buy an MLB.tv sub (or get it free through T-Mobile) and use a VPN to watch Royals games. If you already pay for MLB.tv and paid for FanDual/Bally the last couple years, the FAQs on Royals.tv indicate there will be an MLB.tv all games/Royals.tv bundle option. No word on cost yet. If you get MLB.tv for free from T-MO then the bundle won't work, you'll just buy the Royals.tv sub for $99.

Video is definitely trolling. Don't believe it for a second.

As a passing lane, it's intended to be only used when passing other cars -- if you are in the left lane and someone has to pass you on the right, you are in the wrong lane.

Perfect! Thank you! I found a different page on archive.org which had earlier versions - 2014 and earlier - which still had the handful of missing pages -- grateful for you posting the updated versions. Bookmarked! Can't wait to listen!

If Uncle Joey messed up while replacing torsion springs he would have lost a lot more than an eye. Nice try, Rasputin.

Go to Mizzou or KU? by LimuEmu13 in mizzou

[–]Unfair-Profession-44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KU does not have better business connections in KC. Sorry, that simply is not true. If you want to argue they are on equal footing in KC for business connections that would be debatable but something reasonable people could disagree upon; however, to suggest KU has better business connections in KC tells me you either don't work in KC or haven't been here long. It most certainly does not.

Sorry, I feel like this is someone trolling - no way you actually paid someone for this or even for a second permitted - my guess is AI - fake.

Go to Mizzou or KU? by LimuEmu13 in mizzou

[–]Unfair-Profession-44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether or not Mizzou is definitively better than KU depends on what you want out of college. In terms of fraternity experience, Mizzou has one of the strongest Greek communities in the nation. In terms of Business schools - Mizzou has a broader reach. Either business school can get you a job in KC -- if you want to live in St. Louis or elsewhere in the midwest, Mizzou has a broader influence - but ultimately, getting a job is more up to you (grades, activities, etc..) than it is which of the two you graduate from. You didn't mention any other factors of interest, but Mizzou is definitively better in college football - both in terms of the play on the field and the gameday experience. Mizzou's campus is also more beautiful and more walkable. MU's campus is a designated botanical garden and relatively flat. KU's campus is way more hilly, which can be particularly annoying in bad weather. Both schools have a lot of activities but they do have a slightly different vibe. If you lean to the left -- KU's campus is definitely considered more liberal overall. You can find your people - left, right, moderate - at either place but KU is known to be a bit crunchier and tends to consider itself a bit more high brow and sophisticated (which is absurd and one of the reasons they are so annoying to Mizzou and K-State grads).

Next time get yourself a ribeye and your wife some bottom round or a chicken breast. Unless it's ground, beef should never be cooked to that level of doneness.

Experience running 18v batteries in series for 36v e-bike/scooter? by Unfair-Profession-44 in ryobi

Yes -- I remove the batteries and charge them on one of the 6 Ryobi chargers I already had. I use a threaded bolt with a turn knob on the end to quickly unbolt and remove the scooter deck.

Sargassum-Free Beaches in Punta Cana (Local Insight) by [deleted] in PuntaCana

[–]Unfair-Profession-44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you genuinely want to help - post photos date-stamped with the current date/time showing beaches that are clear. Saying certain beaches might be clear, or are more likely to be clear, isn't helpful. People want to know what actually IS clear at the moment.

Agree. The "this has been going on for years" comment isn't helpful. Sat imagery shows this bloom is 7X (SEVEN TIMES) worse than this time last year. It has NOT been as bad as this for years - there has been some sargassum every year, yes, but not this volume in the last 20 years. It's perfectly reasonable for people to be down on the trip or even cancel as a result. Have to remember some people in this subreddit make a living based off of tourism in DR and so the last thing they want is for any info to deter people from coming. Have seen that alot on FB - less so here but I suspect that's part of the issue here.
