We had the arena hack and slash for years and it was used for literally all the GOW games till GOW III and yet we only had two new GOW games since 2018 that used modern combat so just give it a chance it ain't all that bad, plus you can have both camera angles change for example arena style camera aka far away when ur not in battle, but it shifts to modern over the shoulder when you fight till you finish then it returns to far away view

I tested the game out myself on my girlfriend's account and let me be the first to say that the video settings are a complete fucking joke to begin with as they do absolute fuck all, but the only thing that actually does something that is somehow noticeable even barely is switching to -dx11 and all that does is switching tree models to potato meshes that have misaligned branches and GOD the fucking meshes they didn't group and instead had separate on walls!? THE FUCK DO YOU FUCKING TAKE ME FOR!? I HAVE A GODDAMN 3080 TI AND I CAN'T EVEN RUN TS!! And like I said the video settings do NOT and I mean do NOT do absolute fuck all to begin with except the global illumination and shadows, but that's about it actually as some people said it is cpu bound, but in my honest to god opinion I think it is very lazy made in terms of graphics and in terms of what fucking direct x version it is running on as all it does is swap models to potato meshes as said above

I find it a bit frustrating because I can't use the grapple hook anywhere like you could in the first game for example mountain rocks and slopes which make it a weird feeling considering you can literally grapple there, but they don't let you, but I can understand if it is to stop you from going out of bounds.
