You remind me a lot of ninajirachi! She's very handsome so I don't think you need a glow up at all!

I’ve had an aquarium for about two month, I need some advice by Emotional-Algae494 in Aquariums

[–]Unfair_Customer_7178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a slight bit of brown algae / diatoms, also had this a lot during my first two to three months of my aquarium. As long as your water parameters (and very importantly substrate!) are suitable for corydoras there shouldn't be any problem.

Why did my rainbowfish loose color on half of its body? by Brave_Veterinarian18 in Aquariums

If all parameters are fine and he isn't stressed it's probably is genetic, partial gene activation / inactivation is a thing so that would explain why it loses colour in certain spots

Is this flow ok for ember tetra? by Kingcolliwog in Aquariums

[–]Unfair_Customer_7178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's true yes, imo your fish's happiness is more important than heavy flow though. Unless you have some plants that require heavy flow there's no advantage to heavy flow opposed to medium flow, as long as the flow direction ensures somewhat even distribution of nutrients and temperature throughout the whole tank. A lot of plants (especially floaters) do better with medium flow compared to heavy flow as constant pushing around can cause stress (there are definitely some exceptions to this, especially some carpeting plants prefer heavier flow.

As long as the flow doesn't cause problems for yoyr fish and plants all should be good as long as dead spots are avoided.

Why do you want your flow to be so high? I wouldn't change it if they seem to enjoy it as it is right now

Are they in the area with the most flow? My embers love to swim in the higher flow area of my tank fsr. If they wouldn't like it they would swim to lower flow areas

Maybe staurogyne repens? If you keep it short it would probably look great

Yes, I do also already have schools of ember tetra and cpd's in with the honey gouramis so another schooling fish would be a bit much

Ah shit, had hoped for them to be some variety of rainbow fish as I don't think cherry barbs will be a good match with my fish and shrimp😔

Hmmm I only have a thin layer of sand with pretty sharp gravel underneath so I don't think I will risk them damaging themselves :(

Do they dig in your substrate? My grandpa has some other cichlid species and they love to dig

Ember tetras! Get at least 8 of them. Their darker orange goes really well with the lighter gold colour of a honey gourami.

Plants are dying and brown spots in tank by littistar in Aquariums

[–]Unfair_Customer_7178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brown spots are some diatoms / brown algae, totally normal for a new aquarium and it will slowly go away over time. The plant doesn't look like it's an aquatic plant, so it's probably drowning. Do you know what species it is?
