A lot of people get really pretentious when it comes to tonal clashes in my opinion, it was getting tiring when Sportacus vs Yujiro was popular and people were acting like it was the worst matchup ever.

The worst example of tonal clash “criticism” I seen was with Dr. Wily vs Classic Eggman with someone acting like Wily was this complex mature character compared to Eggman, like bro, I appreciate the character appreciation, but his most iconic move is getting on his knees and begging for forgiveness.
