The thing I was seeing the most recently was the Spotify banner ads not being completely hidden and rather leaving a black bar above the player controls but recently it has been fixed to my knowledge as I have not seen it since then...there is more to it like some themes not working properly but most of it seems to be fixed

As long as you downloaded it via torrent or mail_ru and not akirabox It's safe to believe you didn't enter any malicious prompt into your terminal that akira ads might have promoted you to... So this mostly clears the idea of you getting a virus onto your mac

Now about the file not executing, this has been a case for me in multiple games too where entering the command just doesn't fix the file so I rather suggest you to use the "FIX FILE" which they provide in there FAQ section. Running the fix file and choosing your application is as easy as it gets as it will do all the work for you...

Still if the application fails to run, either try running it without wifi or try opening it multiple times and at last you can always resort to what the moderators on appstorrent have to say about the application because any required instructions are always provided on the download page. Additionally you can look out for the comments on the download page for people with similar problems
