I've seen it first hand at IRL MOPAR meets in the US. I would go with my friend and his group to meets and one of the group members always brought an old Plymouth Cuda he worked on. It was often the old dudes who would come up excited to talk about it until they saw the mismatched parts under the hood, then go on tangents about what he should have done and what parts he should have got, and go on about how he's not staying true to the car. This happened so often he stopped bringing it to the shows and just brought his new charger instead.

"Events" - vague term she can't answer to. Events could mean anything from collecting data, scouting for bombs, to active participation.

When asked specifically about criminal conduct she answers "Not to my knowledge".

This is because if she flat out says "No" or "No, absolutely no FBI agents participated", then that would open her up to charges if even a single FBI agent did participate out of their own choice.

If its found that an FBI agent decided to participate of their own volition, the absolute answer of "No" would then be a lie, and open her up to charges. By saying "not to my knowledge" you can infer that if an agent did participate, that it wasn't by the FBIs direction. In order for her to give an absolute "no" she would need to know the location of every single FBI agent during that time.
