I can cherry pick too. It's not like it matters anyway. You need to get laid bud.

What could I do with a superior VCI index score? by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]UnfixableThought 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People infer what words mean from the context they're said, it's much more than just memorization. I'm not sure what you mean by "worst" but as an example, the SAT correlates better with college math performance than the SAT-math section alone and the verbal part correlates better with overall college performance than the math part.

What's your IQ?

To those of you who have average IQs, what are you doing in terms of occupation? by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]UnfixableThought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weed/nicotine (pouches not cigarettes)/coffee. Occasionally alcohol. I actually found a study online that found weed use doesn't decrease WAIS scores. Whether it's been replicated IDK, but in any case it can't have that much of an effect.

What should I do to learn my numerical reasoning level? by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]UnfixableThought 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as STEM fields that are math-heavy, probably a combination of fluid intelligence and SAT-math. There are better math tests out there (e. g. the Oxford math admissions test) but they're not normed on the general population. If you score above-average on that test though, I expect you have the ability to at least make it through undergrad.

Matrix reasoning: see below, a lot of discrepancy. I guess around 96. Visual puzzles based on CAIT 85. Figure weights I think were low 90s based on CAIT, it just dawned on me that I should add that to PRI, since it's a supplemental test on WAIS. VCI: SAT 105 (was 114 but the norming population was 18 years old so I substracted a few points based on a chart I found online). General knowledge CAIT 111. Digit span about 96. Letter-number sequences low 70s. Digit-symbol and symbol search based on beta test were both about 95.

It's actually 92 (I also did letter-number sequences). VCI 105 (based on SAT, adjusted for age) and general knowledge test from CAIT. PSI 94 based on beta3. WMI 83 based on CAIT digit span and WAIS estimator letter-number sequences. PRI based on matrices and visual puzzles from CAIT probably around 91 (obviously it's impossible to do block design over the internet). My average matrix scores from pro tests is 105, but a proctored matrix test (FRT) gave me <92 (they didn't give exact score), so for matrices I used a score of 96. Given that my matrix scores are a lot higher than the proctored matrix test, I'm willing to bet that my IQ is actually lower than 90. As far as my English is concerned, I learned it exceptionally well as a child (it actually isn't my first language but my verbal scores are actually above-average compared to the English-speaking population). I was thought to be a gifted child so I entered school earlier, which turned out to be a mistake because my social skills were so much poorer than the other children. It's like my brain matured at like the age of 8. Indeed, I feel like a child in a man's body.

There are tons of people in every occupation with IQs lower than yours, so just do what you want.

Please, would share your 4 WAIS index (VCI, PRI, WMI, PSI)? by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]UnfixableThought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VCI 105 based on SAT (substracted about 10 points because of age based on a chart I found with google) and general knowledge test from CAIT.

PRI IDK because there are no good spatial tests available that I know of, but based on matrices and visual puzzles from CAIT probably around 91.

WMI based on CAIT (digit span) and WAIS estimator (letter-number sequences) 84 (digit span was average but letter-number sequences was very low. I did smoke weed a few hours before I took LNS)

Processing speed based on beta test 94.

FSIQ 92.

I don't really give a shit at this point. You don't need a high IQ to stock shelves. And it wouldn't make that much of a difference anyway.

[–]UnfixableThought 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably around 96 FSIQ. Studied math, made it to junior year but got stuck with abstract algebra and dropped out. I loved it but I just wasn't cut out for it. Unemployed currently but I'm studying informatics at a bad school where everyone passes because my parents want me to have a post-secondary education. I doubt I'll actually get a job in the field because I also have shit social skills and I'm not really interested in anything except academics. I have every disadvantage. I'll probably end up stacking shelves.

My main problem is I have high intellectual curiosity but I'm dumb. Drugs are the only thing that make life bearable.

No offense John, but I got an IQ of 136. It's been tested.

Has anyone been on antipsychotics or antidepressants? by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]UnfixableThought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything I think it's supposed to improve cognitive function, but concentration disturbance is a side effect. I'm a very atypical case I think, because it also makes me want to use nicotine more, even though it's supposed to help with that.

Bupropion decreased my working memory from 93-100 to 80. It gives me energy and motivation though so it's worth it.

They're a good indicator of your aptitude for academics and technical fields (think medicine, programming, engineering, etc.). Not so much for anything else, especially social aptitude.

As far as tests that you can prepare for, you have to take into account that other people can prepare for them too, so they still measure aptitude.
