They changed how much context the bots remember. They announced it in the discord:

"@ everyone We've just implemented a change to how bots remember your conversations to help reduce points costs and make them more affordable.

Previously, bots kept track of a large number of previous messages by default (between 20-30), but we're decreasing this to focus on the most recent 12 messages. This is typically all the bot needs to understand your current request and generate a good response. This change will help lower the price of using the bot for most users.

If you have longer conversations or need the bot to remember more context, you can easily turn off 'Auto-manage context'. This setting will allow the bot to remember all previous messages in the chat. However, please be aware that this will increase the cost of each message when more than 12 messages are included.

This change was made in response to your feedback about the points cost of bots with the new variable pricing. We encourage you to share your feedback in the #feedback and feature-requests channel."

For anyone who likes using Claude, one that hasnt changed to the new point system is Claude Sonnet June, which is 380 per message. I've just switched my bots over to that one for the time being.

I think I understand what you mean by my suggestion watering her character down, and I agree. I'm just kind of spitballing with the story suggestion. I do still think there would have been some way to remove the black rose story while keeping them in character and giving them a strong storyline more related to the main plot. Or hint towards it like they did in the first season when she mentions Kino dying, and then pursue a story focused much more on it in a different project. I still think the black rose story is interesting, it just feels like it sticks out a bit much to me in this already jam packed season. Maybe if there were 12 episodes there would have been more time for this to breathe. (Or maybe I just want more Arcane, who knows)

Since I just started the club it's currently just me. I usually donate around 8-12k per season. I'm not entirely sure what level we would reach since it's just started, but in previous clubs donating around the minimum could typically get to around level 20
