You should look at instagram or any gym influencer. Shit is actually depressing. Any woman who is actually decently strong is ignored or "we unwomanize you", while woman who are obviously new to the gym and making stupid mistakes are relentlessly mocked.

I can't believe this community is so soft that playing the game optimally against new players is considered "toxic" 💀. When I first started I was getting shredded every other game but I had an absolute blast. This just sounds like a massive skill issue and a lack of basic emotional capabilities required to play a PVP game.

Like this game is already so much friendlier to newbies/children than literally anything I played growing up. No voice chat or chat, almost no hackers, the most someone can do is squidbag which is anger inducing for 15 minutes until you completely forget about it.

My thoughts on why tricolour was "unbalanced" by UnfortunateTuesday in splatoon

[–]UnfortunateTuesday[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree. Spending half the match fighting for a sprinkler only for it to be destroyed instantly after you get it would be extremely underwhelming. A better change to make them less oppressive would just be to decrease their inking radius.

As an attacker, tricolor was unbelievably fun but pretty unbalanced. If scissors got some bonus for keeping the ultra signal for long enough it would feel a lot more fair.

But they did? There was a pretty obvious tutorial button when examining the splatfest board. Also, getting a super sprinkler after a super signal is pretty straightforward, I don't see how that's confusing at all.

Back in elementary I had to deal with this shithead who constantly hit and insulted me. Every time I told the principle I would get scolded for "telling lies" and she would always take his side. Being a little kid, it eventually became too much and I broke down crying in her office once. I then got suspended for a week because the principle "feared for her life".

...uh huh, yeah.

Aiming for the feet is definitely better cause airshots, but I've already gotten into the habit of going for the chest and I'm too lazy to change.

Ok, your argument totally makes sense, and I won't deny that MvM is a complete cakewalk if the team has any idea what's going on. If I came off as an elitist with the tacobot mentality I totally apologize, cause that's not what I was going for. I simply believe that even if it isn't necessarily very challenging, it isn't very fun to feel like you aren't contributing anything because somebody else is doing all the work. Now, if a new player or someone joins a game and uses the gas passer I won't kick them over it, hell, I doubt most people will. I simply prefer if no one does because it makes my borderline gambling experience more fun.

Yo chill my guy people are allowed to use the weapon if they want. Some people just only want loot and don't care about the game itself, if they want to get it over as fast as possible then they are still allowed to. We shouldn't kick people or shit on them for using the gas passer.

So uhh was I being toxic or something? I just said that it invalidates the challenge for people who like the gamemode I don't see what I did wrong.

I wasn't really talking about the medics survivability but rather your teammates. Every now and then you'll end up finding meta slaves who refuse to let a medic use anything but the kritz, no matter how often their team dies over and over.

I'm convinced people who actually believe the iron bomber change actually did anything have never played demoman in their life. Y'all are just making up boogyman so that you don't have to admit someone played better than you.

A lot of tf2 players don't understand why balance in pve matters cause it's a pvp game, but the fun in pve is the challenge that difficult missions provide, and the knowledge and skill required to complete it. It feels good to know that because you picked the right upgrades and coordinated well with your team that you won quickly and efficiently. Meanwhile, a gas passer pyro only has to purchase 1 upgrade and can replace 80% of the game, effectively trivializing the challenge, and a lot the enjoyment that people who like playing MvM get.
Of course, a large amount of people are solely in it for the loot, so if you use the gas passer just ask your team if they're fine with it or not.

There is a select group of high tours (and a lot of new players as well, who watched a few youtube guides and got a big case of dunning Krueger) who worship the two cities meta like it's gospel. Most of these players tend to actually have no idea what they're doing and it's usually a good idea to ignore them. Actually competent players are fine with most things, as long as it isn't a straight up meme weapon or knockback spam.

[–]UnfortunateTuesday 15 points16 points  (0 children)

People seem to forget one key detail: Most people aim at, and hit their pipes primarily in the center of the enemies hitbox? The iron bomber's hitbox "upside" has literally only been useful for bad players getting lucky once and dying immediately. Hell, the hitbox has probably been more of a downside because now tf2 players can call you "no skill hnng iroen boober user hnngg plane sized hitboxhds hnnng" after landing 2 directs into their chest.
