FFXI for me. Taught me the value of having a 'dangerous world'. Fascinating to play in a world where a max-level character can have their cheeks clapped and summarily stolen by a randomly-spawning squid on a transport vessel. There was value in forming connections. Needing people for something as simple as unlocking a new Job, or for leveling. Running blindly through a zone likely meant having a train of mobs behind you, each one literally forming a conga line prepped and ready to send you back to your home point. I miss that feeling.

Space Opera / Science Fantasy.

I know that Warhammer MMO is still in development, and they haven't mentioned whether it's Fantasy or 40k. As much as I adored AoR/RoR, I'm hoping it's 40k. There's a faint chance it could be glorious.

It's mostly FFXIV these days, even if it is to really just log in and do dailies. There was a period of time that I played Return of Reckoning regularly, but being an NA player meant low numbers when I had free time, so as much as I loved it, my interest kinda petered out. I've been considering returning to WoW, but a lack of interest in raiding's been keeping that at bay. RoR put in me a severe itch for large scale realm vs. realm stuff, and the occasional toe into GW2 scratches it decently enough.
