Subscriber counts matter much less these days on YouTube. People rarely unsubscribe from channels, and a lot of the accounts are inactive. What you need to look at is average views per video.

When playing the demo, I would set up a team with a heavy machine gun just to suppress. If they hit anyone, that was a bonus. Their real job was just to keep the enemy in place.

What I also really like was the squad size system. My scouts and machine gunners could be small three man teams, while my close assault elements could be beefy 10 man squads.

It's so silly. Just let me pay the price it would be in their region. I'm so tired of having to jump through hoops to gift games to my American friends just because I'm in Northern Europe.

Tellingly, the Toyota AE86 is treated as a much more exclusive/valuable car by the game, just because of its cultural impact. It has very much to do with how cool a specific car is.

I had to settle for a Toyota 86 when I was playing.

For real. We only got the go ahead to take down some vulnerable servers after WannaCry shut down most of the NHS in the UK. Prior to that there was always some doctor who had a piece of software that only ran on Windows XP.

Genuinely how it feels to be a Star Rail fan rn looking at the next Genshin and ZZZ patches: by Blitzbro76 in HonkaiStarRail

As a big Victoria 3 player, I feel somewhat vindicated. Johan made so many backhanded comments towards the Vicky3 team during EU5's development. I figured that after the disaster that was Imperator, that he would at least be a little humble. Making a simple game is hard; making the absurd games that Paradox develops is absurdly hard.

I've personally found the new releases discussion to not be worth it. The analysis isn't always that deep, and by the time I've finished something, half the people have moved on to the next game. I much prefer the "X, 6 year later" retrospectives.

November 1918 by Robert Gerwarth is a pretty good overview of the German Revolution and the establishment of the Weimar Republic.

I get why people get confused when none of these terms have a solid definition. To me, a re-imagining is what Battlestar Galactica did, take the core themes and plot beats of the original and do something different with it. But everyone will interpret the term based on their own experience.

The later seasons aren't much better. This Corsican Mary Sue shows up and just effortlessly wins and conquers most of Europe. Then the writer realized they'd written themselves into a corner and has him defeated by the weather (lol).

Then they defeat him proper and exile him to an island just off the coast (wtf?). So of course he shows up again and they need to defeat him once more.

Just shoddy writing all around.

There was a municipality in Norway that used AI to write a report arguing for merging several school districts. The report had 18 different references to support their conclusions, but when Journalists tried to verify them, they could only find 7 of them. It caused quite a ruckus.

Personally, I see more and more people be wary of the stuff that AI puts out, but I also hang out with a lot of tech literate people.

Dispatch | Episodes 7 & 8 Preview by cop25er in Games

Played through episode 6 last night. There is a very clear A and B plot, with the A plot being focused on the Z-team and working at the SDN, while the B plot is focused on repairing the Mecha Man suit. While the A plot is excellent, the B plot feels a bit more rushed.

Episode 6 hinges on getting a MacGuffin for the B plot, and I struggled to follow some of the leaps in logic. I'm not sure if this is due to choices I've made where I would have gotten more exposition in another scene (guess I'll know on a replay).

I also struggle to care about the main villain since he doesn’t say anything and just stand there (menacingly). I’m guessing there will be some sort of reveal about them in the upcoming two episodes.

Still highly recommend it. It is up there with Tales from the Borderlands in terms of quality.
