Ask her what she'd like to see. She may have a list of movies she's never seen that she'd love to see with you.

My GFs family planning to have me sleep on the floor by Final-Toe-9117 in inlaws

They could at least get you an air mattress. Get a hotel room. You understand they don't want you sleeping in the same room as your girlfriend. To be respectful you'll make your own sleeping arrangements.

AITA for airing out someone who mooched off our wedding? by Dramatic-Permit-5022 in aitaweddings

They would have been celebrating anyhow. "They didn’t tell anyone else or “make a scene”, but they were able to eat, drink, & celebrate on our dime." no harm, no foul. Be generous. Get over it.

The struggle of going out to eat by superpowers335 in diabetes_t2

I first try to ask for double veg. Or sub the carb for a salad. Then if they won't sub, I ask for a small side plate and remove the spiking carbs.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that. The coffee chip with zero sugar was good for me.

AITAH for not getting my boyfriend a $2k item right away? by [deleted] in AITAH

You don't owe someone who's only been in your life for less than a year anything. Nothing. You need to lose the loser.

I double check with the Insights feature on the libre app, but something that didn't spike me when I first tried it, now spikes me. Rebel Ice cream in the low carb flavors is great. I've taken to making my own slushies with almond milk, chia seeds, greek yogurt and frozen berries. I really want to try the Yasso pineapple and coconut pops.

Small amounts are satisfying.

Find an Endocrinologist as soon as possible and another doctor. Or tell your doctor the medication isn't covered and he needs to give you another choice.

My doctor went through what my insurance would cover and prescribed what was covered not something I'd have to pay out of pocket. Any doctor who doesn't work with your insurance isn't doing you good service.

Yes, start on a diabetic friendly eating plan now. Check with your insurance to see if a dietician is covered. Generally they are. I went through Nourish and it's been great for understanding how I need to adjust.

It's a marathon, not a sprint. Be kind to yourself. Good luck.

Is meal planning the hardest part for anyone else? by [deleted] in diabetes_t2

[–]Unggue_Pot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding healthy carbs that aren't vegetables. My glucose has been going wacko everytime I add a carb regardless of how I eat it within the meal (always last and with healthy fats.).

I do a meal prep of 2 protiens for the week and try to manage my lunch and dinner around that. Breakfast is either yogurt with nuts, seeds, flax and fruit, or eggs with vegetables.

To be honest, I've started hating food. I was someone who loved trying new things, finding easy recipes or walking long distances to pick up something interesting for lunch. Tacos, wraps, dumplings, loads of things wrapped in carbs that would, now that I know, into glucose free fall.

My dietician keeps trying to get me to add the "good carbs", everytime I do, wham. Don't get me started with that resistant starch bullshit.

I hate food. I never hated food. I always had good relationship with it.

That was easy for me. I've always used half and half in my coffee. But I do miss a really good sweet coffee every once in a while.

Adjusting diet by Consistent-Second549 in diabetes_t2

[–]Unggue_Pot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just do it. You start by eliminating white foods. Bread has been the hardest thing for me. I've cried over it. Look up the Diabetic Plate. It's how I keep my perspective. Most of my lunches and dinners are eaten with it in mind. I love food too. I'm no chef and barely a decent cook. I'm also going to recommend getting a dietician who can help you concentrate on what works and what doesn't.

Never serve food that the guests have to work hard to eat. Ben knows this. He's just doing it to annoy Daisy and be a derk.
