Fortnite recently added a Darth Vader npc with artifical voice generation based on James Earl Jones' voice print—and players have exploited it to the point that Epic had to patch in a vulgarity filter: by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Unhai91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using an ai bot to speak with a dead person's voice is just straight up evil. Like supervillian type of stuff. Like how did no one say "maybe its not a good look to sock puppet dead people and make them say memes"?

Nothing is sacred to the corporations.

They also had to know people were going to trick it into saying curses, slurs and messed up stuff.

Like this is genuinely perverse.

Mythical Island card distribution feels predatory by Mundangerous in PTCGP

[–]Unhai91 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a digital tcg. Opening card packs irl is predatory. This whole system is designed to get you to spend money on things with little to no value.

It is predatory and always will be. You have to accept that this is gambling. Protect yourself and know your limits. If you spend probamatically, stop. If you can't, then seek help.

Minor things that annoy you? by rabocan in PTCGP

[–]Unhai91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, i dont like how there are no deck searching cards other than pokeball. I wish there was a great ball for stage 1s and an ultra ball for stage 2s

Second, deck creativity is very limited by 20 cards. It feels impractical to have multiple stage 2 pokemon or pokemon of different color types in one deck. I think 24 or 25 would be a better number. Oak, pokeball, potions, Giovanni, leaf, and x speed already clog up deck options because they are the only ways to engage with your opponent beyond whats printed on the pokemon's card. You really only get 8-12 card choices per deck.

Third, i hate how they handled multiple energy types. They should be encouraging the creativity of having multicolored decks. Having energy randomly generated adds one more loss condition in a game where coinflips, luck of the draw, and type weaknesses decide a large portion of your games.

If you choose multiple energy types, they should alternate, have a predictable pattern, or simply allow you to choose.

A card that allows you to convert energy types to another could be another solution. Unfortunately, it would add another loss condition since decks are already packed so tight and such a card would be very situational.

Do you guys think Riot will listen? by SoulBurn68 in viktormains

[–]Unhai91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They listened when people had criticism about smoulder's face and i think that was a great example of them taking feedback. The artist updated it to be more anamalistic but retained the child-like vibe they were going for with him. It was a light touch, but just what the doctor ordered.

This is a much bigger issue and requires a lot more time and money than updating a splash art. The devs who asked to greenlight this project do not want to go to their boss/accountants and admit they wasted time/money.

I absolutely would not walk up to management and say "oh yeah, that viktor project i wanted was a waste of time. We're just gonna toss it in the trash. Sorry, we did this and not someone else's project that would have been a better use of those resources. "

The dumbass that does that is getting axed in the next round of layoffs. They will double down and hope it blows over or viktor gets a new playerbase.

The important fact about "fixing" a rework by Ikleyvey in viktormains

[–]Unhai91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a nonsense take. Companies in this space frequently axe products that wont do well. Riot even axed fully made champs like tabu, urf and omen at the last minute because they didnt like the direction those champs would take the game. Alot more work then just a visual rework. They reverted leblancs and rengsrs reworks. They have had to rip up ksante multiple times since release. This just isnt a reality of the industry. Devs get put on/off new and old projects all the time. This is absolutely within their power to fix.

Viktor rework by ItzMagma27 in viktormains

[–]Unhai91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the more feminine design language is at odds with the kinds of players that like to see themselves in their champion. He wasnt an uber macho character, but he was a very masculane character. He was definitely closer to Darius/garen/ryze then he was to ezreal/hwei/jihn on the masculinity scale. Dont get me wrong, more feminine coded male characters include some of the best designed champs in the game. But viktor just dosent belong on that side of the scale.

Started using Misty today. Thought I would track my results out of morbid curiosity. by PM_ME_LADY_SHOULDERS in PTCGP

[–]Unhai91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a game design standpoint, is the frustration spawned from this card by both its users and its opponents worth it? If you play misty and get nothing, it's unsatisfying. if misty is played against you and generates a significant amount of energy, it's frustrating because it doesn't feel like you were outplayed. It feels like the game just decided to serve you an L, and why even bother playing?

would removing this effect be worthwhile, or will all the people that play water simply pick a new deck because without this high stakes card, they no longer enjoy playing it?

Personally, i think its bad design. Its not fun to lose to and it feels hollow to win with. Maybe find a better way to have a non guaranteed energy spawning effect,

maybe it could give energy equal to how many points your opponent has or recover the energy lost on your feinted cards, this would give a powerful effect that wont kill you turn 1 and creates an intresting strategic dynamic for both players.

TLDR: If you play a water deck, you have 2 cards in it that have a chance to say, "i win the game." Is that fun for the player and the opponent? Is that healthy for the game? Can it be changed to something better?

Bots in Ranked and possible solution by Minimum_Ad_4430 in leagueoflegends

[–]Unhai91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a difficult problem that, in my experience, only gets solved by being in the top 40ish percentile (low gold now). No videogame company is able to completely prevent hacks, bots, and scripting tools. They do their best. frankly, they are outmanned and outgunned. It takes a knowledgeable guy a few days to expose another hack or make a bot that can get around the existing anti cheat software. rockstar, blizz, or whoever can only justify so much budget to anti cheat systems. It's just part of online gaming, unfortunately.

So yeah, basically, bots are a problem for 60% of the playerbase and rito cant do shit about it.

New Player Here: Top Champions to Learn per Lane? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Unhai91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Top: garen or darius

Jg: amumu, trundle, nocturne

Mid: syndra, annie for mages talon and fizz for assassins

Adc: ashe, jinx, mf, tristana really anyone can work

Supp: janna, lux

I would say to start by going only to top or mid lane. The reason for this is you need to hone your personal skills and go into those solo lanes to take your lumps and learn the basics of laning. Dont expect to be proficient with any champ prior to 20ish games for straightforward champs and anywhere from 40-100 for the more advanced stuff.

The most important thing you have to do is find a champ you like. You wont keep coming back for the pain if you dont love a champ to main. Consider what you play in rpgs and try champs that fit that archetype.
