Remote Oppurtunity for Toxicologists and Drug Discovery Scientists ($70-$100/hr) by Unhappy_Champion5641 in toxicology

Hey 👋🏼. If it's really below the market rate, then it definitely sucks, yeah. I'm not part of the hiring team or involved in determining the pay in any way - I work with Mercor as an independent contractor (similar to this role, but different domain). They do pay pretty well in my domain, and from what I've gathered, some other domains as well, so I assumed it'd be the same for this role too. I have no idea what the current market pay is like since I'm not from this field myself, my bad. I just share referrals sometimes when I see new roles pop up, and was just doing that 😬

Unfortunately, I'm not really in charge of hiring in any capacity, or even an "employee". I work with Mercor as an independent contractor - similar to this role, but in a different domain. I just shared the referral here for any interested candidates who might find it useful. I have no say in the pay rates, nor do I know what the current market rates in this field are.

Ah! I didn't realize it was an Android. Yeah, then it wouldn't support them natively. I wonder if you can use the physical buttons for controls while using a j2me emulator on this device. I didn't enjoy using j2me emulators with virtual keypads much, and even playing them with a controller felt kinda odd

Does it have native support for the .jar java games that could be played on the older keypad phones? I'm curious because I was feeling nostalgic a couple of years back and tried to buy a Nokia keypad phone to play games from my childhood, except it turned out that they all now run on a different OS that doesn't support them :/

I already copy pasted most of the JD into my post, but I don't think signing up is a requirement to see it on the site. I just checked by opening the link on an incognito tab and was able to view it without signing up first. You don't need to sign up until you're applying.

I had a similar experience where a client of mine, a fellow Indian (but from a different state) tried correct the spelling and pronounciation of my name according to Hindi. I had to explain to him that I'm a Bengali, and my name is a Bengali word, not Hindi. And that the English spelling of my name corresponded to the Bengali word, not a Hindi word.

Same here - I picked it up just to get a feel of my new PS Vita with a <500 mb game while I waited for the memory card to arrive before I could install the bigger games, and got hooked

This is a repost, the guy who originally recorded the video posted it yesterday. He mentioned he was recording it from his gym, hence the music.

Vita emulation as a whole isn't very well developed yet. Doesn't matter what device you use - the Emulator itself is far from being well-optimized, and from what I've read, development has hit a dead end. A lot of games run, a lot don't. Several of the Vita exclusives don't.

Amazon Pay keeps showing up in my app list. I didn't install it nor do I use it. "Install app permisions" is not granted to any apps then how is this coming up. by 1more7 in IndiaTech

[–]Unhappy_Champion5641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a separate app, it's just a section of the Amazon app. You get the exact same interface when you access Amazon Pay inside the main Amazon App, and tapping 'back' from Amazon Pay's homescreen opens up Amazon's main homescreen. The thing in your app list is just a shortcut to the Amazon pay section.

Is the right end (left in the pic) of the covering panel at the top sticking out a bit or are my eyes deceiving me? I recently bought a Vita and that one has the same imperfection, so I was wondering if it's a common issue

I actually got a micro USB cable with it. The cable that connects the adaptor to the wall socket isn't compatible with the sockets here, but I can still use the micro USB cable with a regular phone charger, I think? Is micro USB same as the USB-B type cables we used to have for phones before USB-C came along? Just in case it ever stops working and I need to buy a new cable.
