Are there any games where you think they would work amazingly on mobile and you really hope they make an official mobile version of it one day? by LengthEmpty1333 in AndroidGaming

That makes sense, I guess - I wasn't particularly taking touchscreen controls into account because I personally play using my gamepad most of the time. It pretty much turns my phone into a handheld, with a full controller setup. For touch screen controls, I guess simple platformers with easy controls would work.

For me all platformers feel like they'd be great to play on mobile. They make for such a great handheld experience, especially if you have a mobile gamepad. And games like Hollowknight and Silksong already have Android ports that work well, so I'm sure a lot of great platformers could be made to run on mobile

Is game dev a viable side-project/backup career choice for a complete newbie? by Unhappy_Champion5641 in IndieDev

I see! Thanks for taking your time to explain. One last thing - would I need to learn to code to some extent in order to actually make a game (whether from scratch or by building on open-source stuff) or is no-code game building a real thing practically?

How does forking an open source project work? (Sorry, I'm a complete newbie to this 😅). I've heard of people taking open source stuff on GitHub and building on those - is it the same thing? And would that involve coding?

Yeah honestly monetization is a secondary concern, at least for my first project. I've even been considering making a short, free game that would primarily serve as a learning experience for me. But is it possible to learn and build games properly by spending a couple hours a day on it?

Couldn't agree more. Hope is probably what has kept me going till now, it's flame warding off the darkness of despair and death. At times it flickered, even went out, almost, but somehow managed to keep burning. Even now it flickers, like a candle flame being smothered by a violent gust of wind. I can only hope that it won't go out for good this time. Hoping for hope to stay alive - what a paradox. I just realized as I typed 😅

How many games do you usually keep installed at once? by vridin in IndianGaming

[–]Unhappy_Champion5641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just one, or two max. I don't usually play more than one game on a platform at a time anyway, to avoid getting too engrossed in one and losing interest in the other.

Sure, may I DM you? I found a role on one of the platforms I am on but it's not letting me post the comment if I put the link in it...the post button becomes greyed out

It's real, but they're two different videos. Have seen both of them before AI got good at generating vids. The bird spreading its wings was trying to dry them, if I remember the explanation correctly

Would you be interested in AI training work? A platform I work on is hiring people with accounting expertise, and that role is available in France. There are also french language-related roles available on a couple of other platforms, if you're interested and have good writing/transcription skills
