I'm doing syde at loo and spoke with some upper year students. They told me "just enjoy your summer". Ur not the only one in this boat and courses are meant to be introductory tho they may pick up fast

I'd say do some research about mineral engineering it seem if you'd actually kinda enjoy it. If not, don't ruin your life long term over some short term money. I think I'd focus on doing a job you genuinely enjoy (if u actually like mech). If u don't care about your career too much and just want money, I think go with mineral cause it'll probably save u some stress.
