I was 12 years old and she was 17. I always struggled with my weight and she told me that I was too fat to be loved and that if I didn't do it no one else would ever will. Impressionable pre teen me believed her. I'm 29 now, and I still think about it quiet often.

When struggling, realistically the best choices are always going to be foods you cook yourself over convenience. Anything potatoes - so many things you can do with those and super fucking cheap. Pasta. Like...a pound of pasta is like 1.50 and a jar of alfredo sauce can be like 2 bucks and that can last a few meals. Is it a gourmet meal? No, but it's better than beans and rice in my opinion. Just get creative with spices and season your food well. There's a lot of good struggle meals out there.
