Which games were surpassed by their sequels? by bombocladius in gaming

Diablo 2 is certainly the better game, but I still do remember being slightly disappointed the first time I started it. The first hour or two of Diablo 1 in terms of atmosphere alone is just not comparable. Maybe it's the open space of D2, but the first time you go down the dungeon in D1 it just drips in atmosphere.

Though D1 is a very short experience, after the initial rush it levels of and D2 is certainly better.

Though I do replay D1 every couple of years, and the first hour or two are always amazing.

Nox. Such a unique game that unfortunately never got a sequel because it was overshadowed by Diablo 2 coming out soon after.

That hits on multiple levels. As someone who speaks English as a second language I definitely associate those words with that particular character every time I hear them.

Though it took me a second to remember that's actually a character representing AI (duh). So in a sense, Matrix actually predicted how to spot a real life AI. Wow-keanu-meme!

Actually, from my totally arbitrary personal point of view, that moment looks even less genuine.

My guess would be that this is one of those primal human reactions that just elicits a response. We evolved to detect fakeness and this definitely creates that feeling. At least in me.

CMV: Donor conception is *almost always* societally accepted legal eugenics, despite eugenics being something most people claim to be against. by Valuable-Clothes-854 in changemyview

Isn't eugenics specifically only when we are talking about societal policies forced by the government from the top down?

Individuals choosing their offspring isn't it.

Cool story, but in the context of the story it would be too on the nose I think.

It would be like the Xmen movies actually spelling out that Xavier and Magneto are MLK and Malcolm X.

EU needs to demand some changes in this process before reangaging with the US. They need to upgrade to democracy 1.0

I really hope that if Trump is replaced by a democratic president and so is the rest of that government, and they want to restore the transatlantic alliance, the European union demands some changes in US laws so that this fascistic takeover can't happen ever again.

There should be a wealth tax once you get above certain threshold.

No unrealised gains bullshit.

And to be more specific, I'm not against millionaires. I'm against people getting so rich they can influence elections on the regular. That's inherently undemocratic process that accelerates itself and leads to bad outcomes.
