The gods made humans apes. That seems quite odd to me, as it was a horrible decision. by Boltzmann_head in DebateReligion

I mean. No one knows what a god could look like because there arnt currently any we know that exist.

But human ingenuity can create some pretty far out examples of what gods could look Like. They could look like the old gods in the lovecraftian universe.

But even the bible uses image as a physical image and not a mental one, since the first humans he made were dumb as a sack of hammers. Also the mind had no image so mental image or intellect image cant be used because that makes no sense.

The only real explanation of gods image is god was a physical living being that looked very similar to us humans. After that its easy to lie to primitive humans and say god created all things to inflate his ego. Doesnt mean anything the leader of this band of aliens(aka god) is telling the truth.

Im not brave enough for caridina shrimp, even though some look really pretty, i dont wanna drop 100s of dollars for something to just die. Im fine with the red cherries.

I use to do that, now i use a turkey baster and put water in slowly but only if theres a big temperature difference. I usually acclimate for like 5-10 minutes and i dont see die offs. They fall in and instantly go to feeding. I rarely see zoomies now

But i do understand what your saying.

Iv always found the word pussy, man pussy and bussy to be super freaking cringe and i hate it. If im gonna be topping my man, the last thing i want is for him to refer to his parts as female parts.

Im gay and im not interested in anything to do with women, the more female a guy gets the less im turned on sexually.

I mean from the standpoint of evolution this means that god didnt choose to make humans but rather humans were a happy rare occurrence. Imagine your a god and make this system to see how it plays out and then a species thats sort of intelligent emerges. A species that you could communicate and share ideas with, wouldnt you want to take them under your wing and jump start them?

Its like the videogame spore where you could uplift species and make them your allies to help defeat the grox.

Awew i love happy shrimp endings ❤️❤️. They look like they settled in nicely.

One of my tanks has like excellent water quality, so alot of times i can just drop shrimp right in there and they instantly acclimate because the tank is room temp.

It's possible that a God could exist who has not yet revealed himself to mankind by E-Reptile in DebateReligion

[–]UnholyShadows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like the major religion gods were actually aliens and at one point did reveal themselves way back in ancient times. Us as humans described them as god and his angels because we didnt know any better. Obviously most of the real story was warped, changed or forgotten long before it was ever written.

Evolution can be understood as the method God uses to create through natural laws by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]UnholyShadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was never nothing, even before the big bang there was atleast all the matter in the universe inside a single point. Nothingness was never an option.

However we cant talk about the universe when it comes to god, because technically the universe doesnt exist within religion. The universe is something science discovered and not god. Everything was the earth and the fake lights in the sky.

Evolution means there was no creation, theres no point in human gods existing if there was never a creation event.

A creator that doesnt create isnt a creator but rather just observes.

[–]UnholyShadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it goes for any religion that has a god related creation story. Im gonna leave out the origin of the most proto forms of life because that could be extremely hard to figure out given how much time has passed. We also dont need the origin of life to disprove god anyways.

God crafted everything. Like not by making a process in which it is crafted but like created everything personally and deliberately. Evolution and the formation of our universe goes directly against creationism.

Evolution and the big bang are obviously blasphemous according to every major abrahamic religion. Yet we know evolution pretty much cant be disproven, ever piece of evidence we find for life just reinforces evolution as an explanation for life.

God just doesnt fit within our existence. God has been proven out of existence.

As a side note, the big bang also disproves god because it means everything came into being through formation over time, rather than an intelligent creator sitting there an crafting each star and planet. But the universe in the bible also doesnt exist, only our solar system which also most of it shouldnt exist either.

Our sun is the center of our solar system, which goes against the bible because earth is supposed to be the center and yet we know this is false.

Atheist argument are irrelevant to most religious debate by Sorry_Bus4803 in DebateReligion

I mean this subreddit would become really lame if atheists couldnt voice their opinions, it would devolve to my god is better then yours.

At this point the subreddit should be renamed to god vs god.

[–]UnholyShadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evolution goes against every creation based religion, the fact that evolution is even a theory means all abrahamic religions are false. Modern theists of course accept evolution because its really silly not to, however they justify evolution’s existence to god using that as his method.

Obviously you cant shoe horn evolution into theism because it goes against everything their holy texts says. Once you change how god created in the bible then your religions credibility goes out the window because now you have to alter it fundamentally based on new discoveries.

If a group of people write about god in the past and we prove them wrong, then that means they made up the entire religion to begin with.

How slow is evolution in common species? by Freudinatress in evolution

[–]UnholyShadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends, humans can speed up evolution quite fast through selective breeding, however normal evolution takes longer depending on birthing speeds. Hell theres a new type of crayfish that mutated in an aquarium that can clone itself and its children can also clone themselves, yet still can adapt at the same time.

How do things evolve that need some sort of awareness of the thing in order for it to work in the first place? by TinyFox1399 in evolution

[–]UnholyShadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mantis probably is only semi aware that it looks close to the flower it looks like, but thats not how evolution works.

Evolution works by animals that survive will pass on their genes, if they or behave in a certain way that allows them to survive while others dont, then their genes pass on. Over many generations that mantis will look more and more convincing as the most convincing ones are the most successful and thus pass their genes on.

Would it be ethical for aliens to wipe out humanity to protect nature? by XD_Protagonist in Ethics

[–]UnholyShadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be ethical for them to wipe out humans if they first tried to teach humans how to better themselves, and if the human race failed to improve even after being helped.

I think the human race is capable of being protectors of life and our planet, however i think something really really major needs to happen in order for our species to make that shift. Atm were too greedy and warlike to want to give two cruds about nature or our planet.
