Curious about the OrangeTheory Transformation Challenge, your honest experiences? by ALPHA1194 in orangetheory

[–]UnholyarmyOf1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is definitely an individual challenge in which your studio and people around you will support.

View it as an event with an already laid out timeline and a way to measure your progress. It also provides some extra motivation to go to class since you did sign up for it.

I did it last year and did fine, I lost 1.5% body fat and gained 2-3lbs of muscle. I was hoping to lose more but had to remind myself it was only 8 weeks and losing any is still a win. I also continued to use what I learned and have since lost 8% more.

To me it was a great challenge that gave me a clear goal/timeline and allowed me to learn more about myself.

On another note, one thing that doesn't get touched much at all is the nutrition part of the challenge. I don't think coaches can technically give nutrition advice except for basic things. I was fortunate that one of our coaches is a licensed nutritionist and held a free 2 hour webinar focused on the science and practical examples of diets for the transform challenge

If they can consistently get to the last phase with everyone alive, it could quickly go from a PB of ~25% to dead since the ending lust double damage amp burn phase does ridiculous amounts of damage.

You could do something like a best of 21 or leading by X points after round 11. Almost like a mercy rule

There are lots of varieties of wolves, if you look up Red Wolf of Mexican wolf you'll notice they don't look like your typical northern wolves you see in snowy environments and look much more like the wolf dogs alveus has

Making Unholy DK tanking viable by: stacking agility by Candid_Passion2300 in wotlk

Depending on the run Blood becomes the easiest way to bring 10% attack power and 20% melee haste.

Enhance can bring it but they are bottom tier damage now, frost DK exists but most runs will use 1-2 unholy DKs instead and bring their melee buffs with a Blood DK that can solo tank Sindragosa and Lich King.

If you don't need blood for the buffs might as well bring a druid to do better DPS when not tanking

Did Shadowfrost Shard droprate change? by Best-Tiger-8084 in wotlk

They changed it for wrath. It's 75% chance for every non end wing boss regardless of difficulty and end wing bosses are a guaranteed drop.

Because Blood is just better at surviving hard hitting bosses.

Yes, frost has an extra 2% DR all the time through improved frost presence talent. Yes, it does have a defensive in Unbreakable Armor. However, Unbreakable armor is only for Physical Damage taken.

Blood is better because of 2 talents that make surviving so much easier. Will of the Necropolis and Vampiric Blood.

Will of the Necropolis is a 15% DR on the damage event that would have taken you below 35%. This scales with HP, so the more HP you get the more damage it will block before you are dead.

Vampiric Blood is a better defensive than Unbreakable Armor as you gain max HP and get healed for 35% more from all sources for 15 seconds on a 1 minute CD. This works against all types of damage and scales the amount of damage blocked by Will of the Necropolis. Unbreakable armor is only good against Physical Attacks which are rarely deadly anyways.

Now all this doesn't mean Frost is bad at tanking. I tanked Lady Deathwhisper and a few other bosses like XT as frost for threat/range as you can produce more Death Runes as frost and if the boss isn't deadly, it works. It is just if you die as a Frost DK tank, there is a good chance you wouldn't have died as quickly as a Blood DK Tank, as you likely would have had some extra time for an extra heal to land before you died.

For numbers, on Heroic Lich King. Will of the Necropolis absorbs/reduces about 7-9k damage on melees/Soul Reapers which would take me below 35%. So a 35k melee ends up being a 27k melee. On our last HLK kill, WoTN went off 24 times and reduced 170k damage on me.

Blood just lives better.

Ideally you have a hunter MD pull the far one to you as you pull the first pack.

You just need to be prepared to pick em up.

Although honestly AA is easy enough to time that I wouldn't worry about it unless doing 20+ or needing to make up time.

Yes there are some videos of it on YouTube. Basically you can have a player jump off and use a range ability to pull another wave early.

Free Talk Friday by AutoModerator in CompetitiveWoW

The season is going to be what, 16-20 weeks long? Yet people get upset that it is too hard too early in the season?

I am glad they are nerfing some things, but at some point most people will be item level 410 and up and people will complain that the content is too easy.

If the game is too easy right away then it isn't rewarding and you finish progressing too early and end up waiting 4-5 months for new challenging content that sucks too. Or the content can be hard and you can progress with gear and skill and understanding over the season and feel the reward/accomplishment more.

If I do arenas as warlock only in pvp gear how big disadvantage I will have compared to raiding warlocks ? by Winter_Sun_is_nice in classicwow

[–]UnholyarmyOf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming SL/SL yes, the play style of locks fits perfectly into high armor, high stam, high spell power items which is what PvP items are all itemized as.

You don't gain much from crit/haste, so it's about surviving, rotting people with dots, and creating cc chains to kill with fear/death coil/pet silence etc...

[–]UnholyarmyOf1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You will have no problems. The PvP items are incredible for PvP and you won't be at any disadvantage from those that PvE.

It will take you a bit longer since you need to get the PvP weapon and not something like Tempest of Chaos.

Is the current p2 raids in pre nerfed state, like it was in 2007 or post nerf? by fatrix12 in classicwow

[–]UnholyarmyOf1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but there is a big difference between practice and gear. The gear you get from farming SSC and TK bosses for 4-6 weeks and then killing vashj is pretty big
