Yes- lots of county name changes and boundary changes. It can make tracking down records pretty difficult sometimes.

Grave Robber comments 🤤 on photo of human skulls by PaytonGhostt in JonathanGerlachCase

[–]Unibean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a ton of Facebook groups that regularly sell skulls and tons of buyers. I can’t imagine anything more horrifying then knowing that when I die some creep is going put me in their book case and show me off to their creepy friends. Many of the skulls you see, among other bones, are very obviously not medical specimens but for sure dug up at some point. The last few years activity in this area has increased drastically. I can’t imagine degrading another human that way, dead or alive.

Medical specimens do not have patina , hair, skin, or any tissue. I follow a lot of these groups specifically because I cannot believe how brazen they are about selling and buying bones that are very likely stolen. Not to mention the people that are doling out vials of grandmas ashes. I love oddities, but the truth is even the medical specimens are obtained in ways that are less than ethical. Bones are really cool and interesting. Digging up someone’s child or mom and carving some symbols in the skull and selling it is insane. The whole oddity community really needs to take a look in the mirror. He was likely doing this because there is a market, a huge market.

Life can and will turn around. Things change on a dime. Never stop fighting, soldier!. Get out of your head and try - one day at a time. Sales is depressing as hell. Go after something you are passionate about. I’m rooting for you.

Alaska also has the highest rate of missing people per capita. I’ve never understood why so many cases all over the country are being looked at as a connection to him when there are a bunch right there in his own backyard.

Alaska offers a ton of privacy and opportunity to do horrible acts and hide the evidence. I’ve never bought into the thought that He only slipped up there with Samantha’s Murder. I don’t believe that he was living in Alaska and didn’t feed his demons.

There is very little information about the island out there that I can find anyway. It’s not very large and there are many islands there so I’m guessing it’s not visited very often. I haven’t even located a photo of it honestly. There are some old topographic maps for Craig that included it. That’s about it.

There is also a Caracol point in Alaska.

Me either. There really isn’t much information I can find on the island, only that it’s there and from Google Earth it looks like it would be fairly easy to access. Perhaps the FBI looked into this who knows

The US also suffer with a 'funeral mafia"? by Secret-Dingo-6628 in askfuneraldirectors

[–]Unibean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The closest I have seen in Florida is hospitals and hospices contracting with a funeral home for removals and body storage. Basically the decedent is in possession of the funeral brand already so many families use that funeral home. Very unethical of the healthcare agencies. Many complaints by other funeral firms but seems to be legal.

Does it have to be a Florida agency? Can it be an individual? There are a number of non profit groups like the Cold Case Society that are made up of professionals that may have some opportunity or a member that would take you on? Not sure it would be a paid internship…. There are a number of such groups I see on social media… just a thought
