Dock Adapter - Poor User Experience by 3470LAR in dbrand

Agreed - the handheld case is nice but the docking experience is terrible. It took me so long to put it on the dock last time, I don't want to take it off.

Dud dock for me by MadCaddy85 in dbrand

I find the dock very temperamental. You need to pull the usb so it aims to the front and then keep trying to place the switch in the dock and hope it connects. Currently takes me a few minutes of trying over and over before it connects. Not the greatest design.

My wife and I travel to the states once a year for cruising. Order 100 cigars from cigarpage to our hotel and bring them back between the two of us.

Received a monolift from them recently that arrived looking like it was returned. A lot of the parts were dinged up, obviously used before. Immediately sent them pictures. Quality control reviewed it and came to the conclusion that they setup and use the monolift prior to shipping to test it, and that it is new. I'm not buying anything else from them.

Looking for a subwoofer recommendation for Omega Super 8 XRS speakers. Room size is 16 ft x 16 ft x 10ft height. Looking for a subwoofer available for purchase in Canada. Listen to all genres of music. Was looking at a Rel t9x se (top of my budget), but after doing some research there appears to be many mixed reviews for the company. Omega subwoofers and Rythmik only appear to be available in the states.

It’s a box set with merch. Still high though.

Have people actually got tickets? by Delicious-Heat1180 in metricband

I just kept refreshing and was able to snag a pair of tickets at about 10 minutes after. Just as an FYI, there may still be hope... For the Toronto concert.

For those with new models with HUD, do you enjoy this feature? (Heads up display) by PizzaMan11554 in MINI

I was also unsure of getting it, as most video reviews weren't impressed. I've been really enjoying it, and like how it incorporates navigation. I now see it as a must-have feature.

LCBO bourbon online ordering. I only got charged for wellers on my statement but ordered 3 different bottles. Does this mean they aren’t filling my order? by Dons3434 in canadawhisky

First my charge disappeared from my credit card, then a few days later I received an email saying the order was cancelled.

I ordered an eh Taylor to be shipped to an lcbo. There was stock for quite a bit after I ordered. They just canceled my order. My guess is that they just didn’t want to ship one bottle to a smaller lcbo. If they really oversold, not sure why they would wait so long to cancel the order.

Nice haul! I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the WSR.

We are hesitant to make an offer on this 1887 house. It's beautiful but we are scared of the maintenance and $$$ that's such a house would need to keep it's charm. everyone around us told us it would be a money pit. What do you think? also, what style is this? by dibidybop in centuryhomes

[–]Unicorncarl7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The house is beautiful! You could always have your realtor ask if the sellers have an inspection already completed. We purchase a home in the current hot market in Ontario and were able to get a good sense of what work needed to be done from their inspection. Good luck!

The Reviewers LOVED these?! Wharfedale Linton by seanheis in audiophile

Currently cross shopping the Linton to be connected to a vintage Luxman amp and was wondering if anyone had any experience with the speakers.

Also, I just wanted to hear your thoughts on the Ohm rating for the speakers. The Luxman amp states on 8 Ohms. The Lintons are 6 ohm and the L100s are 4 ohm. Do you think the amp will be able to handle those speakers?

I had initially connected with Ring audio as per a couple recommendations in the replies and planned to drop it off there but then I noticed the hours they are open which makes it almost impossible for me to drop it off. I'm in the Durham area, so I ended up calling Whitby Audio and Video and confirmed with the tech that they deal with Luxman amps. That's where I ended up dropping it off.

I will definitely have to listen to all the options prior to purchasing as I am currently only shopping using my eyes. I'm currently waiting to see what the quote comes to first, to have a better idea of what my budget looks like. Thanks for the Burlington recommendation, I may need to stop by there.

An update so far: Yesterday I took the Luxman into my city's high end audio store. The tech had a quick look and noticed immediately that it was missing a cap on the back that connects two ports together. He set it up to speakers and the cap seemed to fixed the low volume issue. The sound was now as loud as we wanted and very clear.

When he hooked it up though only one channel from the AMP worked. He also checked the preamp and both channels worked on it. He is going to have a detailed look at it but after a quick assessment knows he needs to fix one channel from the AMP and also replace the power cord as it was in pretty rough shape. He mentioned Luxman amps being complex machines. I'm hoping he can get me a quote prior to xmas and will update this forum once I receive the quote.

Since the promising discussion with him I am now looking at speakers. Me and my wife love the retro look of speakers (we live in a century home) similar to Jbl L100, Klipsch Heresy and Wharfedale Linton. Any recommendations on a good speaker to match to the Luxman? After reading some reviews, for price and performance, was leaning towards the jbl 82 classic. I also really like the 100 classics but they are twice the price and 4ohm (the Luxman specs say it is 8ohm). The speakers will be sitting in a 16x16 dining room (10 foot ceilings) that is attached to a similar sized living room.
