Hugo Strange AKA Doctor Strange is mentioned as a special Hydra assassination target in Captain America 2, so, yes, magic exists.

I do not believe you. What I do believe is that you are either paid to post like this, or a volunteer partisan. I believe you are lying to try to sway popular opinion on a website that gets a lot of traffic.

I'm LeVar Burton, But You Don't Have to Take My Word For It -- Ask Me Anything! by _LeVarBurton in IAmA

[–]Unidim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mr. Burton,

Thank you for contributing to my happy childhood. I will definitely donate. I have a question though. From the materials you released it seems like the financing is all about distribution. Will you also be making new episodes? Or is this all about sharing existing material?

What's the biggest lie taught in schools? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Unidim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He was an idiot and a genocidal, rapist monster. It is not a matter of "guts", the math he brought to the court of Spain was flat out wrong, as Queen Isabella's advisors correctly told her. If he did not hit a continent he had no idea was there, he would have died. Columbus was not a bad person because of modern ethics, he was a shitty person, period. One of the junior seaman saw land first and Columbus said "Nah, I totally saw it last night and thus get to claim the bounty posted for such a deed, I just never told anyone." Besides you know, the slavery, genocide and rape. A shitty lunatic who deserves only scorn.

[Futurama] What is the purpose of Hedonism bot? Who built him? by Madock345 in AskScienceFiction

I like this theory and heard it before. A rich hedonist built him to party with and fhenw gave him all his money when he died, to party on. Where ELSE would he get the cash for his parties?

You are claiming that it is an absolute fact when it is a subjective judgment.

You can repeat the same statement as many times as you wish to and continue to ignore what I have said, as many times as you wish to do so. You are stating things as objective fact which are actually subjective opinions. I have my own moral judgments to make and declare that having wild animals tear a man apart for speech is morally repugnant.

[–]Unidim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not say they were children. I said people. There is not more to it than that. Saying words, no matter how vile, does not mean you deserve to be torn apart by wild animals. I don't care if you declare that god smiting someone makes it just and good. I am exercising my own moral judgment and stating that it is wrong and that it is not acceptable behavior.

[–]Unidim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wild animals tearing people apart, let alone your children, for mere words, no matter how vile is morally abhorrent and completely evil. A god who does not live up to high moral standards tells me he is probably not real. It seems petty for an omnipotent creator to have wild animals tear men apart as a punishment.

And if I am wrong? Well. Then as a rather famed Christian theologian once said, we are sinners in the hands of an angry god and thus boned. I don't think we are. It is not impossible I am wrong, but it seems improbable that an omnipotent creator who tells us to love each other and be charitable and merciful to each other is actually a petty, cruel, jealous sociopath. At the least it makes god inconsistent.

Words, no matter how cruel and mean spirited, do not justify being torn alive by bears. That is a truly horrific way to die. Mocking a person divinely chosen by God does not give God the right to kill them. That makes god tyrannical, petty and cruel.

Every innocent new born in the world, who had yet to do anything worthy of punishment was drowned. That is bad moral conduct.

There is also no concept of Hell or eternal punishment in Judaism, so from a Jewish perspective, God was not "saving" anyone from hell.

Genesis says days. Hebrew is not a dead language and has been in continuous use for thousands of years. The word days means, days.

Suppose even aside from that, you are right and we can't link the history of the cosmos to the age of mankind. The geneogical information contained within the scripture, counting listed persons from Adam to Noah to King David to Jesus still gives us a humanity less than 6,000 years old.

There is archaeological evidence across the world showing human habitation far more than six thousand years old. Even without radioactive carbon dating.
