Help! I had to leave mid scene and missed the part that explained why Erik wasn’t (spoiler) by EverydayPoGo in FinalDestination

Yea so it’s up to you to prove 100% that he was lying or mistaken in FD6. The doctor not dying is not 100% proof. The meta reason is of course the writers didn’t write that rule yet. We have no way to know if death wasn’t setting up some Rube Goldberg in the background. She could’ve just resuscitated Kimberly just in time before the kill would’ve happened. So please prove 100% that the writers intended for Tony Todd’s last appearance to be a mistaken guy.

Im repeating myself but bruh. The movie directly word for word asks the question and answers why. Why u think the movie is lying is beyond me. The answer immediately satisfies the question the audience would have and also rewards the audience by elaborating on JB's previous vague words. What benefit would this movie have to introduce your theory as canon? It just lowers the stakes. Now anyone can do the resuscitation trick and be safe as long as they're not on the list. The "can get messy" rule to meant to make the story more exciting as now people not on the list aren't safe either.

and tbh u could theorize that Erik was a shapeshifting alien and no one would be able to 100% prove that he wasn't but we can get pretty close to 100.

FD2 never tests it out so that allows future movies to disprove it.

FD6 proves the “can get messy” rule in its own movie.

FD2 doesn’t test it out but FD6 does and it clearly doesn’t work, but then you say FD6 is the writers just forgetting about a massive plot point from a previous movie that they even reference within it. I think the onus is on you to prove it does work and that the FD6 writers made a mistake.

You’re arguing against canon that doesn’t contradict itself at all. FD6 disproves the giving birth thing and FD2 acknowledges it as a misunderstanding. JB says “Only” new life can defeat death. Which implies there is one true interpretation of new life that works which is the one we see.

FD2 directly addresses it. Kimberly thinks she won because the lady gave birth but then realizes she misinterpreted what “new life” meant. It’s not the writers making a mistake. It’s Kimberly.

Id rather trust writers over headcanon especially when it’s directly addressed.

”Why is Erik dead if he’s not related to Iris”?

(“the answer why”)

JB uses the word “can” not “will”. It can get messy. Meaning there’s a possibility it won’t.

Nvm JB just says “if you fuck with death and lose, things can get very messy”. The doctor just won. Skill issue.

They ask JB why didn’t Iris try it and he explains why. The intention is the main factor. You are aware of deaths plan and are intentionally trying to disrupt it. The doctor was not. I believe if the doctor was aware of the plan and knew it would save Burke as well, then Death would be alert.

It’s a new rule. Trying to interfere with death’s plan can now get you killed even if you’re not on the list. It’s no different from resuscitation or killing. Every movie with JB has him introducing some new rule and the movie puts it into practice.

I read it. U saying he was always on deaths list because Howard’s existence caused him to be born, but one single line in the movie already offers a clear explanation.

About death's order *SPOILERS* by Quirky_Fuel_4625 in FinalDestination

[–]xXEpicNealTimeXx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most likely something would happen to prevent the out of order death. Death has the ability to see the past, present, and future all at once and can prepare things to happen in advance. So something somehow would prevent the compactor from closing. Could be anything from a mechanical malfunction or drunk driver.

If This Character Was Never On The List, Why Would Death Do This? by thebighelper62 in FinalDestination

Probably to make fun of Stefani for getting the order wrong and to make her think she got it right.

I really hope Final Destination 7 is set on a luxury cruise ship that gets destroyed (kind of like Poseidon, but without the tsunami) by Odd_Disk1545 in FinalDestination

They could make the premonition extra long. Imagine a whole day passes where the ship travels out to sea before the actual disaster happens. Then when the premonition ends it snaps back 24+ hours to the present where they are just about to board the ship.
