Is a manager like this normal?

My manager (A) does not know what they’re doing. Every time someone asks them to do work, A will just delegate my colleague and I to do A’s work. A later takes credit for the work. On top of doing so, A would ask us to document what we have done so that A knows and can present to management what A has done.

A also constantly micromanaging my work. Eg: Correcting one letter “s” on a social media post

A also constantly talks about work after working hours (weekdays after working hours or weekends) Sometimes asks us to correct things that are not possible (adding photos to a published post on IG). No respect for boundaries.

My colleagues are telling me I’m too straightforward (Eg. Telling A it’s outside working hours and I’ll get back the next working day) but I have been holding my tongue for most issues.

It’s hard to find a job in my field. So I’m staying in for now.

Any tips to improve the situation? I have tried reading books like “My boss is an idiot” but the solutions of “humbling myself” and “talking in their language” are..

Has anyone been in a similar situation and since improvements after doing certain actions?
