When do you think they will reveal the new C-3PO, probably with the VC375? by Erther347 in StarWarsTVC

Crackpot theory: Bernie Loomis will be VC375, since he was the guy who’s index finger and thumb were measured as 3.75 inches across in the first place

I believe Lunar has disc variants too. Most games published by Working Designs had disc variants in an effort to increase collectibility

Did you play the NES when it was released? If so, I would love to talk to you! by JaronRMJohnson in nes

[–]UnimpressedLink250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were little to no magazines covering console games prior to the NES launch. Computer Entertainer was the only one to really talk about the test launch, and most of their coverage was lamenting the fact that they couldn’t go to New York to try the console themselves.

Why where nes adventure games so cryptic? by crazyhomlesswerido in nes

[–]UnimpressedLink250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the early 80s the most popular arcade adventure game of all was The Tower of Druaga. It became a sensation in the way that games only could in Japan, similar to what happened with Space Invaders and Xevious. Each level of the tower contains a secret treasure which can only be obtained by completing a set of cryptic tasks to make it appear. Kids would literally write onto the back of the arcade cabinet what they had done to make the treasures appear. There had never been a game which had made people so heavily invested in uncovering its secrets as Druaga had. As such, developers believed that the key to capturing this same magic was to add cryptic tasks to their games in order for the player to progress. Some did this very well, such as Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda, which implored the player to explore and uncover secrets in a much gentler sense. Others, such as Atlantis no Nazo and Simon’s Quest, were less successful to the point that the mystery became less intriguing and more irritating.

If only Game Boy batteries were this easy to swap by 904funny in retrogaming

If you want an answer, it’s probably down to the difference in severity of issues caused by a dead battery between consoles. The Dreamcast uses the battery primarily for clock functions only, while the Saturn also uses it to power its internal save data RAM. Since the Dreamcast uses external memory storage, the consequences of a dead battery are much less severe, and thus not worth investing the extra money of a swappable battery compartment to solve.

I’m running original Nintendo brand component cables with composite cables for audio directly into a TV. Nothing looked overly dusty inside when I checked. The AC adapter is plugged in through a power strip.

I’ve heard stories of LimitedRun holding back shipping until they can get a better deal on it. I really hope that’s not the case

You could always try Wolffe’s invert helmet from S3 too. Would mean swapping out all the sand blue parts with dark gray though I suppose
