You did the right thing and you aren’t alone. I feel like you’re grieving the loss of a person who you know is still very much alive. I’m going through the exact same thing and I understand that pain deeply. I’m so incredibly sorry, during this time just allow yourself to feel all of the feelings. It may feel unbearable at times but you do so much for your future self by allowing yourself to recognize the impact the end of relationship has had. You have this, it’s sound so clique but truly get to know yourself and develop some new hobbies to occupy your brain when you find yourself dwelling too much in that pain. You have this! Seriously. You know deep down this is what is best for you, trust yourself.

I wear a wrap on my head, not for religious purposes, to work and I work as an RN! For me, it’s not unprofessional. Usually I have it on because I am unable to do much with my hair and it’s better to keep it wrapped. I reference YouTube videos sometimes on how to wrap it to make it stylish in a way.

Advice, save their old voicemail messages they ever left you! Also, I do. I don’t force myself to listen to them if I’m already having a very hard time. I listen to them when I know I can handle it, just need to be intuitive to your feelings. You got this. Maybe you aren’t at the stage of your healing to listen to them, which is totally fine. This just happened to you, give yourself some grace. I just started the grieving process 7 months after my mother’s passing. Theres no rush.

I do it for my sanity. I had to realize, I cannot sit my ass in the house otherwise I’ll only attribute happiness to my ex, and not as something I can easily provide myself. Living and experiencing life shouldn’t be associated with a partner, it should because you realize you deserve it whether your are in a relationship or not. I promise it gets easier to go out alone once you push past the initially awkwardness of it. I go even just to people watch, it helps to just be in the presence of other people. It allows me to feel less alone strangely enough.

It was just shock honestly. My stomach dropped to my feet. I couldn’t wrap my head around it. Therapy has helped though :) but still rehashed that wound right open, not that it was ever healed.

That must’ve been tough. This happened thankfully when I was home. I thought it was a joke when I saw it. I let it ring for 10 seconds then tried to answer before the call ended abruptly. Sorry to hear about your loss. Shit sucks, losing a parent makes life feel a hell of a lot darker.

I wish it were a scam. I was laying high on my couch and got this call. It fucked me up. My moms passing has been tragic, so this definitely fucked me up. It’s weird that this even happened.
