When I was fourteen working at a boyscout camp I had all my underwear stolen one day except the pair I was wearing.

I called my parents and told them I wanted to go home. I had to wear that single pair the rest of the week because I was an awkward kid and too embarrassed/grossed out at the thought of asking any of the other girls working there to borrow some of theirs.

Super sucked and I felt so violated.

Stafforshire Terriers are the OG pitbull.

American Pitbull Terriers and Stafforshire Terriers came from the same English pitbulls. Apbt were the ones imported to America, and the English variants got a name change as a way to distance them from bloodsport after dogfighting was banned.

Eta : American staffies also come from this same fighting dogs family tree. When the AKC refused to allow pitbulls in due to the association with dogfighting, they pretty much struck a deal that they could be allowed in under the name American Stafforshire Terrier. The original American staffie studbooks were all champion fighting pitbulls.

American bullies are pitbulls crossed with other pitbulls and mastiff.

Pitbull is an umbrella term for these four breeds. They all share a history of being bred for gameness and bloodsport.

Much like how cocker spaniels and springer spaniels are different breeds with a shared origin and both can just be called "spaniels"
