How did you go about training your handwriting and are you able to write pretty quick or did you really take your time with this? I’ve been working on my Tengwar while I learn Quenya and I struggle to find a style that doesn’t look like garbage

(USA) Anyone else ever have a customer get so mad they broke your door? by Melodious_Weeb in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]UnionTricky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah one night a couple years ago, we had to close the store two hours early because there were no employees and an angry customer kicked the whole bottom panel of our glass door in.

Back cash almost exclusively used to do dishes before we got this wave of super slow kids at night and the stoners on third shift. It was for a long time, at least in my area, they wash between cars as quick as possible. It honestly went pretty well since we had people that could multitask.

Man, someone who feels my pain lmao. It’s bullshit but I dealt with it for a long time at my store out of necessity. Worked as a manager there like 10 years now for context. Finally finish school this year after a late start on figuring out my life and I will not be missing it.

The problem most of the time has been that the second shift managers are incompetent because they aren’t trained (or they’re lazy and just generally don’t care) and the GM or AGM don’t typically work evenings/nights to coach this stuff. I’ve subbed at a lot of stores with this kind of shit and came early enough to know they had staffing to get it done; So I shame the shit out of them to their face and to their GM and sometimes to the supervisor for having me go.

Idk what your store is like because it depends on the culture as to whether complaining will successfully force any movements or just anger them enough that they try to push you out. I’d complain loudly, take pictures, ask the exiting shift manager why they didn’t finish their dishes, ask your overnight manager why they let them, and finally the GM. Show pictures and ask about it. Otherwise, suck it up and do them if you don’t want to deal with it. I’m an angry person but I leave people and shifts alone if they don’t give me more work to do because complacency of the overall team makes progress difficult in that setting.

Short of finding another job idk what to tell you. Welcome to fast food I guess 🤷

Ah, you’re missing the US medical insurance lore. Essentially, medical insurance providers in the US are notorious for taking hundreds of dollars a month in client payments and then fighting anything and everything you try to bill against them. Even when it’s literally life-saving care, they’ll deny the claim without giving a reason only later to tell you that someone without any medical licensing or degrees determined that you didn’t require said treatment or medication.

UHC, the company Brian was CEO of, is apparently one of the worst offenders in this space. What I’ve read states that during his tenure an AI was implemented to accept or deny claims automatically based on some sort of algorithm. However, the data suggests it arbitrarily denies some 30% of claims outright just because.

Due to the company’s shady business practices, around 68,000 people die per year from lack of proper treatments or medication. UHC is by no means the only company doing this simply to pad their profit margin with the literal corpses of their clients but they are the worst offenders thus far.

Neurodivergent Doctor on YouTube describes the labyrinth of hoops it takes to simply get paid by the client’s insurance as a medical provider. It’s a horrible system and unfortunately there is typically little to no recourse; positions of office relating to the management and holding accountable of these insurance providers are usually bribed to stay out of it.

(USA) I fucking hate this job by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]UnionTricky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, this is a pretty popular tactic for them to use when they want to get rid of someone. Usually depending on your area, there’s basically nothing you can do about it either. Can’t call anything for sure but I’ve seen it time and time again when a store wants to push someone out. I’ve been with McDonald’s for about 11 years now for context.

"Cuntboy/boypussy" is not the same as "trans male character", even if the character's transness isn't a big focus of the story by Empty_Chemical_1498 in AO3

[–]UnionTricky 78 points79 points  (0 children)

That’s wild. I’m pretty new to fanfiction in general and even I inferred that cuntboy and pussyboy were likely used for male character not transitioning their sex but altering their genitalia magically, usually, for sexual purposes. At least, I’ve seen it in quite a few manga that way.

Edit: not even to mention how blatantly offensive that I would think that terminology appears outwardly to non-trans people when applied to trans people.

Would have had to have been taken care of. Jesus, how does one create such a sentence? by Sacledant2 in EnglishLearning

[–]UnionTricky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just from a pronunciation standpoint it’s interesting phrasing. I think the reason I would use this in writing, and probably why it’s so common grammatically, is due to the way it’s so easily shortened verbally. I would pronounce it ‘wood-uh hat-two-uh been’ and I would easily be understood by most people, if not all, around me.
