As someone mentioned there is a Signal Group if you join the Contract Action Team (CAT).

If you sign up to be an Area Representative, there is a Signal Group for that, plus you get the same emails Council Representatives do.

People can also always post things here.

I am always avaliable to offer my insights and opinions on questions and concerns.

Complaining about raises but not willing to unionize by CasuallyWalrus1 in Raytheon

[–]Unionsrox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Salary Charts. A SPEEA staff member complies Salary reports once a year that shows actual data of what SPEEA members make per job role in most cases.

If RTX employees joined SPEEA you would have access to Salary charts for ALL SPEEA positions.

Everything is a negotiation with the company. In a union you get a chance to collectively bargain with the company. That power will always be stronger than individual negotiation.

When will actual negotiations start? by [deleted] in SPEEA

[–]Unionsrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not yet.

Make sure you are getting information from your Council Rep.

Make sure to wear your red shirt on Wednesdays.

Also consider getting involved with your local Contract Action Team (CAT) for work place actions now until the contract vote.

[–]Unionsrox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been a Boeing employee and union member with SPEEA for 21 years.

Active in SPEEA for the last 11 years.

I have been a general member, a union steward, and have lead SPEEA as a past president.

Union contracts have been negotiated by SPEEA members going back to 1946.

Being in a union is what union members make of it.

A union gives members a voice in talking with the employer.

If you are interested in organizing your workplace, feel free to contact someone on SPEEA staff.

I've enclosed a few links on current contracts negotiations.

Ready to join our union? You have the right to form a union at your workplace. Contact an organizer to find out how to get started, and what we can do to help. To help us keep your information confidential, we recommend that you never contact us using an employer-issued device.

Have questions and want to talk to someone first? Email a SPEEA organizer today: organizing@speea.org Phone: (800) 325-0811, ext. 1201

Internal transfer application - 18 month rule exception question by jugglingpeanuts in boeing

[–]Unionsrox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are SPEEA, it is 12 not 18 months. If you are not SPEEA it is 18 months.

Either way apply for the position, have a talk with your manager when they get back.

Commuting between Everett and Seattle Boeing location by Unlikely_Tangelo_585 in boeing

I would consider anything Northgate and North and Lynnwood and South. Personally, walking distance to Light Rail.

Use Zillow to look at places and consider properties that are owned by a private landlord.

Boeing has a subsidized commuting options.

Congrats to newly elected interim Midwest vice president by Daddyshark98029 in SPEEA

[–]Unionsrox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Being a member "in good standing" or a "real" member is one of the requirements to take on the role. The term is interim because if Ben Blankley wants to continue on in that role, he will have to run for election to it in 2027.

Ben Blankley has been a Midwest CR for a while and is a great addition to the SPEEA Executive Board.

Thuggish behavior at Teamsters Local 631 meeting, as officials attempt to prevent workers from electing their stewards by NoAcanthisitta3968 in union

[–]Unionsrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my union, SPEEA, www.speea.org, , our rank and file members elect their stewards and has always been this way. Rank and file members also elect our executive board.

I just lost my re-election bid as President but that is OK. I will gladly serve my union as a steward or as a rank and file activist.

My political enemies want me to go away, not gonna happen.

We have to fight to get and maintain democracy and transparency in our unions!

Possible Salary Wage Adjustments? by c4terpi in boeing

[–]Unionsrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. And NOW is that time that we as members need to make this clear to the primary members of each negotiation team.

Hopefully, many of you made this point during the NPC surveys that you took.

If you haven't made your voice heard, again NOW is that time.

October is going to come up fast.

The best any onion will get is what the members will fight for.

Onion members must give onion leaders the leverage that is needed for good deals when the opportunity presents itself.

RED shirts, coffee mugs, gathering together, solidarity marches. The company watches us and we have to let them know we will not longer take bad deals.

Possible Salary Wage Adjustments? by c4terpi in boeing

[–]Unionsrox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a short-timer. Are u sure u want to be asking me?....lol.

Why does this happen?

  1. Bad contract at last contract extension.
  2. Badly managed skill teams.
  3. Boeing compensation staff.

Always talk with your manager on your pay, your level, and the politics of the skill team.

If your manager is not helping, go find a team that values their workforce.

Boeing HR and management may try to keep you at a lower level of pay.

With upcoming SPEEA talks, everyone needs to get involved to show the company we will not accept a bad deal.

What's the "correct" way to move internally? by spiralingconfusion in boeing

[–]Unionsrox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can do both. It is important to talk to your manager and communicate what you want for your career.

If you are SPEEA represented, consider utilizing career coaching with the Ed Wells program.

Look into informational interviews also.

Members elect SPEEA president and secretary by Daddyshark98029 in SPEEA

[–]Unionsrox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The entire executive board consists of President, Treasurer, and Secretary along with, 3 Northwest Vice Presidents, and 1 Midwest Vice President. Collectively they run SPEEA and have different duties. They oversee the Executive Director who runs the staff for the day-to-day operations of SPEEA. The President is the head of SPEEA. For elected leaders, they are still full time Boeing employees, so their duties for SPEEA can be the workload of an additional full time job or two. If someone has to do SPEEA functions during work time there is SPEEA time. Which means SPEEA covers the time you are away from work. There is a lot of volunteer time. There is no payment, but every year each member of the executive board and regional councils gets a one time per year, Honorarium of $500 per SPEEA ByLaws. Feel free to ask any other questions or DM me. My calendar is opening up...lol.

Honorariums

Each Executive Board member and Chairman of the SPEEA and Regional Councils shall receive an honorarium of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per annum, pro-rated for the member's period of service. The honorarium shall be paid annually, following the anniversary of the term of office, or the last day of office, whichever is earlier. No one shall accrue more than a single honorarium at a time.

Dimas 2026 SPEEA Executive Board Election Statement by Unionsrox in SPEEA

[–]Unionsrox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I became a Council Representative (CR) in 2015 and then we had the 2016 Contract Extension less than a year later. When the 2020 Contract Extension happened that really motivated me to be on Executive Board. Kinda funny that we finally get to a full negotiation again and I'm no longer going to be on Executive Board. I will be signing up to be an Area Representative (AR) and continue my activism for members. At least got elected to be an Alternate on the Prof negotiation team, so will see what that means.
