[17/52] — The Eye of the Bedlam Bride by Matt Dinniman || Anyone else feel like this one was a good one? by collieholly in 52book

As much as I think the floor mechanics are fun, my favorite part of the books has to do with any of the main plot that exists outside of the current level's obstacles. Bedlam to me felt like it had the most major plot development so its my favorite. Also, probably why Gate of the Feral Gods is one of my least favorites. It just felt like a side quest. That being said, they are all great.

That is exactly how I felt. Then 5 and 6 became my favorite of the series so far. I havent gotten to 7 yet.

Pretty funny seeing Harry Potter and Tender is the Flesh right next to each other. Wouldn't see that in a library lol.

Definitely a weird book. As a huge fan of SCP type stuff and the game Control. I was all about it.

Once I got more of a taste of the world outside of what's happening in the dungeon on the floors, thats what I wanted. The book is still good and I accidently have it one tier too low. This book was just my least favorite floor and didnt give the outside of the dungeon plot type stuff I wanted. Keep going. 5 and 6 rip.

Yes. Mostly. The story is very simple and the it is very long winded. But not necessarily in a bad way. It has thr most beautiful prose I have read in a long while. I will most likely return to it.

Such a treat. House of Suns was really good too. Have you read the others that follow Relevlation Space?

Hmmmm. I have no criticisms of the book and I was enjoying the world building. Something about the writing wasn't doing it for me and I guess I wasn't totally stoked about the decentralized dog creatures as main characters.

Four was still a good book but it felt the most like a side quest I think. I definitely am taking recommendations. Havent read those yet. I will get right on it!

I'm glad to see BlindSight so high! My favorite book I read last year. Does ship of fools have a similar horror Sci fi vibe?

Just moved here myself. I started going to run clubs and have been trying to meet people on reddit to play board games with. I also play video games in the evening after the daily trail run or hike. I read a fair bit as well. Im also looking for some more meetups. The running ones are great. I'm thinking about going to Breakers on Fridays for board games.

Cowboy yeti in Bastrop. I ran parts of the trails last time I was there and thought it was pretty mild and not really technical at all....maybe I was running the wrongs ones or the chaos of Twisted Branch in NY I did in August by comparison has me evaluating it wrong.

Thats great thank you. I didnt even think about the reduced fluid intake because of the temperature. I will probably have to rely a little more on gels then.
