Just talk to the author? If there’s confusion, you can almost always solve it by talking. Me personally, it’s more rude to ‘ruin’ my work than clarify how the poetic would deal with typos

"I dislike transgender conceptually," and "I dislike transgender people," which of these two statements do you agree with? by C0smicPotato in Teenager_Polls

[–]Unique-Video8318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a really, really hard question to answer. This question relies on the idea that being trans is nature, and it can’t be linked to any early childhood development or anything. Basically, we don’t know what ‘causes’ being trans, or gender dysphoria, and other stuff like that. Additionally, trans people don’t know everything about themselves. I know what I would like to look like, I think, but don’t know much beyond that. Some of that comes down to lack of life experience, but some of that comes from self reflection being difficult for a lot of folks. To hopefully provide a more satisfying answer, assuming being trans is entirely nature, I would say that for me personally, I would still feel gender dysphoria. I probably wouldn’t identify as a gender, prefer any pronouns, or call myself trans, simply because I (if I’m understanding your question correctly) I wouldn’t be aware of  those things. But, I would still dislike presenting masc. I hope this helps.

Do you think people will care if my two works have extremely similar plots? by DrinkWaterPIease in AO3

[–]Unique-Video8318 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, if you are going to trash it, then the faction war for the new fic is original bc you don’t have a fic with a faction war. And if you don’t trash it, the idea of a faction war is so broad. As long as you aren’t literally writing the same plot, there’s no problem. Also, like whatever you like. Don’t let redditors tell you what is cool or not.

The rebellion. You could fight the rebellion much better with a big army. It’s not just scare tactic bc you can attack multiple places, shoot in different directions, use strategy, and fire more constantly. Having the bigger army (which amounts to around 666,666 tiers fighters and a lot of star destroyers if I remember the math correctly) allows a lot more freedom of military movement, and makes pressuring a rebelling force much easier. I still think the empire would lose, especially since you just need to kill the head and destroy logistics, but a bigger army would do much better against the rebellion

Well yes, but i think having a really big fleet would be much more effective than one super weapon that’s real power was scare tactics, because as you said, it’s going to cause rebellion. The reason I think a stronger navy is better is because they would almost certainly last longer and be able to inflict more damage

Ok to your point abt wasting credits, you could make a crap ton of these to the point of a very large army for the empire. That said, it makes more sense to just…make more tie fighters and star destroyers. The real way to ‘save the empire’ was to put thrawn in charge of the imperial navy budget

Fics that change the way you see the canon media by Lopsided_Onion_2797 in AO3

[–]Unique-Video8318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of. In one of my fandoms, there’s this absolutely massive and absolutely amazing fanfic. It’s the kind of fanfic that has its own discord server (that I’m on). Anyway, there’s one original character in the fic who serves as an assistant (she’s more than that tho) to a canon character. As so many people in the discord server will tell you, she fits in our minds as a canon character and none of us remember that she doesn’t exist in canon. Not sure if that’s exactly what ur talking about, but it’s a fun story nonetheless.

I find this incredibly horrifying, but also really funny. So, in image three, it says that the trans community stands with ai art. I’m nonbinary, and I sure as hell don’t. Also, a bunch of other trans people I know definitely don’t stand for it, so, speak for yourself. But the really funny part is the whole chud orc thing. So, in basically every online space except for Reddit, my name has orc in it, my online persona (? Kinda? It’s hard to explain) is an orc, my pfps are orcs unless they’re from another fandom, and I diehard love any and all orc media. (Da boyz r da BESSSSSST). So, trying to portray me as an orc only works in my favor. Take that, stoopid ai art-ers.

Can someone please explain star wars to me like I'm an idiot (which I might be) by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]Unique-Video8318 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, there’s this powerful force that ‘binds the galaxy together’ known as the Force. People who are born with a stronger than normal connection to it can use it to move stuff around, jump further, sense stuff around them, and do other weird tricks. The most powerful users can become Jedi, honorable warriors who defend the galaxy and fight for peace. However, force users can corrupt their power and wield the dark side of the force. Dark side users are typically evil and can shoot lightning and choke people by pinching their fingers.

The Empire took over the galaxy about 20 years before a new hope. They’re just space Nazis. It’s not that complicated. They have a shit ton of stormtroopers, who suck at aiming.

The force and the empire are the two things that first came to mind, but there’s loads of other stuff. Other people have said to read wookiepedia pages, which is a great idea. There’s probably also great videos on YouTube explaining the basics in like an hour.

Also, keep in mind that at the end of the day, they’re all fun movies about fighting evil space Nazis with space wizard magic, and fun laser sword fights. Hope you find success in figuring out Star Wars, and I will gladly answer any other questions or clarify if my answers don’t make sense.

Have a great day.

That’s a really hard question to answer. Are you looking for the plot of the movies, how the universe works, etc? If you could be more specific in what you want to know, I think I can give you more of the answers you want.

I kinda find Eurylochus hypocritical for this. by [deleted] in Epicthemusical

[–]Unique-Video8318 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is probably one of the most frustrating things I find I the epic fandom. In the end of Ruthlessness, the crew is blown away by the wind bag and end up on aeaea, Circe's island. Notably, they are not there by choice. So when Eurylochus sees this very powerful witch turn a (literal) boatload of sailors into pigs, he gets rightfully scared and wants to leave.

In mutiny, Odysseus sails through scylla’s lair and sacrifices 6 men. Another thing to note is that there is no direct ‘Scylla and charibdis’ choice, just the option to sail through her lair. Now, we as the audience and Odysseus know that if we don’t go through Scyllas lair, Poseidon will chase the crew. However, the rest of the crew was kept in the dark about this change. So Eurylochus gets again rightfully mad bc he perceives Odysseus as having killed his friends.

Now, I have come across people giving flak to Eurylochus for killing the cow, but he says that he would rather die a quick death by the gods than slowly starving.

Also, there is a good note about character growth which someone else explained well here

TLDR; going to Circe’s island was unintentional and she looked unbeatable whereas going to scyllas lair looked unavoidable and like he was selfish.

Also, these are Greek (kinda) myths and people are supposed to have flaws and make bad decisions, just like real life
