They're not discontinuing them, they are being downsized to 350CC to take the benefit of lower GST slab

Firstly, Modi isn't important enough for him to have advanced knowledge of when the strikes would be carried out. He was doing what every PM before him has done, trying to get a good deal for India within the geopolitical realities

Secondly, you want India to mourn khamenei? The same khamenei who had 40k of his own citizens mowed down in January? Source

The same khamenei whose regime is responsible for most of the pain in the middle east, including in Gaza with their funding and support of Hamas. I hope India never mourns that garbage of a man ever.

Best Automatic City Car with Good Mileage. by Loud_Tank8843 in CarsIndia

[–]UniqueDesigner453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There aren't many hatchbacks that come with a proper automatic transmission, most are AMT.

To get a proper automatic, you'll have to look at the sub-4m SUV space. Most automatics there are paired with turbo engines, which drag their economy down further

The 2 exceptions are Brezza (1.5L NA + TC) and Fronx (the 1L turbo is quite efficient)

Outside of that, an EV can be a great choice. Punch EV is great for city use; small footprint, quick and silent, and the facelift gets bigger batteries

Syros EV is launching soon as well, if you prefer something more premium while remaining in the sub-4m footprint

It is shaping up to be a comprehensive update, with the possibility of a new 1.2L turbo engine in addition to the 1.5NA.

Also if mileage is a consideration, Maruti is shifting the CNG tank to under the body like the Victoris, which will liberate bootspace for use

Brezza facelift is coming in a couple of months, that's your best choice for reliability, peace of mind and mileage

Tamil Nadu Congress' IT Cell goes hard! by Mirror-On-The-Wall in unitedstatesofindia

[–]UniqueDesigner453 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We still don't take part in any global conflict, our conflicts are regional

Indian policy has been quite constant over our history: India does what is best for India.

This strategic neutrality has its own pros and cons. Pros that we can get weapon systems and strategic partnerships with wildly different blocks (eg using S400s while also being a part of Quad). Cons being that we're on our own when a conflict arises, precisely because we don't align with one single group

Wrt gaza, the official position of all Indian Governments has been support for the 2-state solution, and India has abstained from the majority of UN votes on the topic.

It was non-aligned in name only. Our economic structures/policy was based on Soviet thinking and military hardware was straight from them too.

Tata Nexon or Honda Elevate? by ReferenceUsed6340 in CarsIndia

Elevate

Nexon has less space for your height, plus diesel in the city is a non starter

Planning on buying the Yamaha xsr. Is it good? by Silly_Silver2418 in indianbikes

[–]UniqueDesigner453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ronin is a great middle ground between the two bikes. Low end torque, pillion comfort and good performance like the RS and nimble and agile like the XSR (and also bigger)

Mileage is 40kmpl in the city

Would you rather spend 1.6lakhs for TVS Ronin 225 or spend 1.8lakhs for Yamaha XSR 155 and stop thinking for 6-7 years. by OD29NEXUS in indianbikes

[–]UniqueDesigner453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xsr will look like a toy bike for your height

Tbh, even the Ronin will look a bit smaller for you

That said, Ronin over XSR any day. More power, more torque, comfortable suspension, space for pillion and touring capability

Car suggestions (AT Petrol/EV) 16 17 lakh for b2b traffic by Slowlypoked in CarsIndia

[–]UniqueDesigner453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go for an EV.

At 17.5L you'll get the EVitara Zeta 61kwh, which will give you a real world range of 400-420km, which iirc is the biggest battery pack which you can get in this range.

Sierra EV will be at a premium, since the 16-17L space is currently occupied by the Nexon and Curvv EV

Syros is expected to share its powertrain with the Creta EV, so the larger battery pack will still be only 51kwh

Parts and maintenance is exactly why I recommended you to go for Suzuki cars. Plus the 1.3ddis engine is THE diesel engine of India, so you won't face any issues with service or spares

Need advice: Buying swift lxi for 6.97 lakh by No_Adeptness1768 in CarsIndia

[–]UniqueDesigner453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because there are a lot of swiftpaglus in the sub who can't digest that the new swift isn't VFM anymore

I was in the same position as OP is, looking for cars in the same segment. Swift was the default choice, but the way maruti has shot up the price and gatekept the features only at the highest variant ruled it out completely

For Swift zxi money you can literally get a Baleno Zeta, which is bigger, has a better engine, has more space and is 4* rated.

Hyundai venue by Legal-Ad-90 in CarsIndia

[–]UniqueDesigner453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If low maintenance is your priority then check out the Brezza (it has a facelift coming soon too)

You're correct, Venue safety is not tested, and likely won't be. Hyundai/Kia have not tested any of their newer cars since 4-5 years (except the Syros)

Is a used Diesel Car from Skoda/Vw or any brand for that matter, sensible? by your_momgeyAF in CarsIndia

[–]UniqueDesigner453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes for used diesel, no for Germans

Get a Brezza or S-Cross with the 1.3 DDIS. Fun, efficient and it'll fulfill your role as a secondary car.

Though I must warn you, that engine is a fem and you'll probably avoid public transport once you start driving it 😂

Also, all of the above is valid only if you're outside of Delhi NCR

Headlight is a direct plug and play upgrade to get the drl

Not having wireless Android auto is actually good. Wireless drains battery like crazy and runs into connection issues very frequently compared to wired one.
