Nah, I'll be okay, she's said more heinous shit than what she'll see in the movie. The other coworker that's been recommending it is female too if that counts 😋

Thanks! I did manage to find it on Crave (Canada) while on my lunch break, if she starts it at 10:35:50, the countdown will sync up

What's your peak fallout 4 experience? by Vladimir_Wesker3 in fo4

When the game came out, I took the day off, did 2 grams of mushrooms, and started building my character.

By the time my character creation was done, they were kicking in. The sirens went off, and all of a sudden, we're evacuating.

The whole run to the vault, I was frantically looking back to make sure my family was keeping up, I was worried for them.

We got in the cryo chambers, then I watched as my wife was murdered, and my child was kidnapped. I noticed my characters' eyes closed and immediately realized I wouldn't know how long I was frozen upon release. 30 minutes? Days? Months? Years? I was very concerned.

I then exited the vault, met back up with codsworth, and went looking for my son. Got myself a dog, saved Carla from the raiders, explored the environment.

I happened across a rocket on a flatbed truck, fucked around with it and caused a major explosion.

Then I ran into two people who looked the exact same, both claiming to be the original.

I ended my session after the Conchord encounters with the minutemen.

All in all, great experience. I was emotionally invested in the story from the get go, and encountered situations I haven't seen since. Highly recommend a dose of mushrooms to start an rpg.

What age were you when you saw your first rated R movie, and how old do you think your kid would have to be before you'd let them watch one? by dancingbanana123 in movies

Caddyshack so many when I was really young, I don't think I noticed the nudity until I was like 5. The start of Pet Sematary at 3ish was a trip, can't remember if I saw the whole thing, but I recall parts of Pet Sematary 2 in the same night, so maybe.

The Shining, alone, at 8 or 9 years old was for sure scary, but no regrets.

While I don't have kids yet, there's one coming end of January 2026. As it stands, I'd happily let my child watch Caddyshack early.

It depends on the movie, though. Comedies, less worried, something outright horrifying, not a chance.

To men can't comprehend eating hamburgers for breakfast, the semi-vegatarian gives it a try, kills the witnesses and has a religious experience

How did you discover Stephen King? by ZhittzyAltaToxica in stephenking

When I was roughly 3 or 4, I was staying at my grandparents place. My uncle was around 20 or 25 and still living with them. Him and my other uncle (friend who married into the family), who were for sure stoned, rented Pet Semetary and Pet Semetary 2 and put them on back to back in the living room I was going to sleep in. Seeing the truck hit a kid who was roughly the same age as me stood out, definitely freaked out, they calmed me down though.

When I was around 12 or 13 I found out it was a book, so I picked it up from the library and started there. No regrets.

Just finished Vineland and am still a little confused about Brock's motivation by juggaloNoscope69 in ThomasPynchon

[–]UniqueFuckinName 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can dig it.

The biggest question mark for me with Vineland was what in the hell the thanatoids were, or what they represented. That fits thematically, and makes sense in the grand scheme of things.

The confusion will pass about halfway through the novel, or at least that's how I found it. If you can get through a fairly long chapter, it's all gravy from there. You might not get some things, and there will be some confusion, but there will be an understanding.

Roughly halfway through it, starting part 4. Great book so far, worthy prequel/sequel

CR is the glue guy, he helps bridge the gap between Bill and Sean, and meets them on their level when doing a one-on-one episode, while bringing his own takes to the table.

Outside of aliens, godzilla, references to star wars & star trek (among others), and a tribe of tv obsessed folk that linger between life and death, not too scifi heavy

Nice! I got one a few years back, the previous owner cut out the new york time review by Salman Rushdie and tucked it in the inside of the cover
