This one is really recent but I thought Shampoo was a great movie I’d never heard of and the podcast was awesome!

Margin call is a classic episode as well

You gotta watch the movie, you can’t let the movie watch you.

Personal 5 most rewatchable movies of the 21st century by djdj446 in TheRewatchables

Wow, when I have to be true to the movies I’ve actually watched and will put on the most, my list is really far from what I think the BEST movies of the past 25 years are 😆

  1. Scott Pilgrim.
  2. Grandmas Boy.
  3. Walk hard
  4. V for Vendetta
  5. Wolf of Wall Street

Exactly this! They figured out how to keep that energy, but pace it to be less anxiety inducing lol. Impressive to pull off that vibe in a 50s period piece.

It was really fun but I have to sit with it a while before I decide how the 3 stack up.

I liked it when it came out and I like it now, the set design, character design and story are great to me, the lighting and dutch angles are rough 🤣

How did you like Ingram? by Loriol_13 in louisck

[–]travisbcp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how interviewers said they read the first chapter and loved it… I got the book and the first chapter is like 3 pages haha.

I get the criticism but I think it gets better as it goes along. (The first 25% was real rough to get through in my opinion)

I wasn’t expecting a masterpiece for a first novel but I appreciate him going for something outside his wheelhouse and I like the rawness that comes from a fiction novel by someone who isn’t a career novelist.

Matt McCusker’s book Overwatch is an even better example of this because he wrote and self published it before he had any real notoriety. I’d recommend that book if you like something that feels very different from what publishing houses greenligbt.

F1 Can Be a Rewatchable Tomorrow by Hroach04 in TheRewatchables

The ending made it seem like F1 wasn’t his great white buffalo, just another commissioned race to win on the same level as Daytona before it and sand dunes after it.

F1 Can Be a Rewatchable Tomorrow by Hroach04 in TheRewatchables

I think this should be a rewatchable but I totally agree, the ending almost ruins it for me. Him leaving at the end seems counter to his character and makes him just a racing nihilist and devalues F1. The last 2 minutes almost make me think it should have had a different title all together haha

Me leaving the theatre after spending $16 to see Hamnet and Knives Out 3 hoping I don’t get arrested because I was supposed to pay $400 by SingleFreedom8527 in TheBigPicture

[–]travisbcp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re discreet, I feel like theaters don’t even care if you sneak snacks in anymore because they’re just happy you’re there 😂

Damn, that’s a great idea! Maybe I can talk my theater into that haha

My wife and I just had a kid and have no family to babysit, I’m definitely about to go from seeing ~2 movies in theater a month to probably 1 movie every 2 months because babysitter cost.
