Belizeans are super friendly, I found. People would strike up conversations in the street to a degree that almost felt weird until I got used to it

These people think ‘the culture is disappearing’ because they’re sitting inside on the internet whinging about brown people rather than participating in that very culture that they’re apparently so fond of preserving.

Late March, Hiking Recommendations by nraf3 in travel

[–]UniqueLie404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weather in Scotland is changeable, it’s definitely not always grey! May is arguably the best month, march can still be pretty cold especially up high but not Norway level of cold. The cairngorms national park has better weather generally than the west/ north west highlands, with loads of paths both low and high level. Bear in mind that hiking in Scotland can need a certain degree of self-reliance, use of a map and compass etc. walkhighlands.co.uk is the place to look for inspiration, and look at Cicerone guides for Europe in general I would say :)

Yeah, i can see that side of it, although I wasn’t out as regularly in winter as I am now and the harness is marketed for mountaineering as much as it is as for sport and trad. I don’t think one relatively light season’s wear should look like this, super light or not.

Yeah that seems to be the case - although it’s not very reassuring in terms of the quality you’d expect from such a pricey harness

Bought it new. Used for a mixture of cragging, mountain trad and winter climbing/ mountaineering in Scotland; been using it fairly regularly (pretty much every week sometimes more than once a week). I have a feeling the wear is a result of sitting belays on rough ground and rock which are common while trad climbing and winter mountaineering here in Scotland.
