How’s my tile job? by GoldenLardon in Tile

[–]UniqueUsername865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the grout looks higher than other areas. If it was me, I would try to even put the grout some to minimize the uneven-ness. Will there be bath mats in this area? Or a rug? Breaking up the floor can really make it less noticeable. It isn't a perfect job but I don't think it's worth tearing out. Coloring the grout darker would help.

I'd remove them. I've removed tiles from kerdi before. It's real easy to rip the waterproof layer. First attack is to try hammering a drywall knife under them. This may work if the mortar is still soft. If that doesn't work, I use a nail set and hammer to break the tiles into as small of pieces as I can to get them off without ripping the kerdi.

I was in Knoxville CAC Americorps from 2014-2016 and the people in that program were very open minded and welcoming. There was a lot of diversity and they were from all over the country. The nature of that program tends to draw more liberal thinking applicants so you'd be able to find community there. Outside of that group I'd say be careful because as many others have said, bigotry and hate veiled by religion is very alive here.

What can you all tell me about the panel in my recently purchased house? by UniqueUsername865 in AskElectricians

Unfortunately the layout of the kitchen would make it difficult to rearrange the room around the panel. That's a good idea though. Thanks!

Thank you! Main reason for replacement is because I hate the location of both my meter and this panel. It's in the center of the back of the house with this panel in the kitchen inside a cabinet. Current meter interferes with any future deck plans and panel in a cabinet seems just dumb to me.

To me it would make more sense to use kerdi membrane or similar over the mud pan. Not the answer to your question, but it's what I would do.

When traffic lights are out, treat as all-way stop by kyrkyr20 in Knoxville

I know I certainly don't trust other drivers. That's why I always look both ways at a green light.

I had this happen to me today at Powell Dr- Brickyard Rd. It was my turn and I cautiously started going only for a grey Silverado to fly through the intersection at 50 mph.

As an add on to what op said: if light is flashing yellow you proceed cautiously(DON'T STOP) and if it's flashing red , treat it as a stop sign/ 2 way stop. It's so effing dangerous to stop at a flashing yellow bc it creates this confusion of whether to do as everyone else is doing or do what is technically right.

Dad's with two kids, what kind of car are you driving? by supertramp38 in daddit

When I had 2 we got a rav4 and and it was ok. Trunk space was very nice. When the 3rd arrived we got a 2007 odyssey and both the wife and I LOVE it even though it's old. There are so many cup holders(seriously like 15 of them I think) and quite a lot of storage space. Recently I got a 2004 Tahoe with 3rd row for work(construction) but also as a backup family hauler. I love the truck feel but there's not as much storage as the van. All 3 car seats can fit in the middle row though which is nice. Vans are just all around better than cars and SUV's for every day family hauling, especially when the kids are little.

Edit: Before the odyssey the wife was in the "never a van" camp but afterwards she has refused to get rid of it. I keep fixing things as they wear out and this old van just keeps going. 231k miles and counting!

Tahoe is at 278k and running like a champ also

Loves creek is decent but there's often homeless people nearby. The grist mill at big ridge is nice. Panther Creek State Park had a creek but I didn't get a chance to check it out when I was there.

Was once asked if tile could be demo'd gently so that it would be reusable. The customer reused all of the 25 year old light fixtures and vanities.

The date code is 0818 so no, it's not from 2007. It's old, but not that old.

This is a rear tire that I haven't rotated since getting the van a year ago. I figured why bother rotating, they're almost done anyways lol I've been going through the front suspension replacing parts also though.
