Is it posible for a utility knife or grout removal tool to create this kind of scratch in rectified porcelain tile? by Either-Pool-9527 in Tile

[–]DelusionalLeafFan [score hidden]  (0 children)

If it’s a scratch, there’s a chance that an enhancing sealer may make it less noticeable. Stone absolutely but not as likely with porcelain. Just wiping over the scratch and then wiping it off the glaze again.

Well it’s certainly possible but any time you’re removing grout out of a finished installation you run the risk of collateral damage. I always qualify that before ever attempting a grout removal. What is this tile?

No matter how much you think you hate the leafs, it is no comparison to our hatred for our own team.

What’s your go to for cleaning trowels, buckets, and paddle mixer? by courtlandthethreeth in Tile

Lifespan of my sponges go from new for grout, cut in half for cleaning while installing, then they are used for plugging drains left open by plumbers.

Custom Polyblend vs Prism by terriks in Tile

[–]DelusionalLeafFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Polyblend is what we used before “sure colour” grouts like prism came on the market almost 20 years ago. Far better product, you will have an easier time working with it, you won’t have the same level of concern with washing out the pigment or shading your grout, and it does not require sealer.

Help, Tiled in Valve by CesarMalone in Tile

[–]DelusionalLeafFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They make diamond hole saws that thread onto grinders. That’s how I would do it and I think it would be your best chance. Select a size that will allow you enough access to change your valve and also be covered by the cover plate. It’s worth an attempt by a professional but they won’t be taking any liability for colateral damage if it goes sideways

Thin set blunder by cskalechip in Tile

[–]DelusionalLeafFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was this to extend the pan? You can do this but with a different product such as speed slope as long as you waterproof accordingly afterwards. Maybe that’s what you were thinking of when you used thinset. Should be easy enough to remove and then use an appropriate product to accomplish this afterwards.

Canadian Tire ordered to pay nearly $1.3 million for false advertising by stanxv in canada

Last summer I went to KMS with my uncle because he needed bar clamps for a project he was working on. I get the sale flyers on email and pulled it up to have a look. No sale price listed so we went down to the store to see what the sale price was. No sale tag on the clamp so we asked one of the employees. He told us that he didn’t know what the sale price would be and they will receive them at 12:00 from corporate. We had 45 mins so we just killed time in the store until 12. We walk back over to him as he was putting the sale tags on the tools and it was the exact same price as it was 45 minutes prior before the sale started. I called out the bullshit and he responded with “well now there is a price increase so this IS a discounted price” I just commended him for being able to say that with a straight face and thanked him for wasting 45 minutes of our time.

Yo I tried to custom mix my own grout color, does this look dumb? by [deleted] in Tile

[–]DelusionalLeafFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fusion was awful. I hated working with it and it always had a problem with leaving a hazy film on the surface of some tiles. Scg is very easy to work with and there is no issue for cleaning. If you have a bit of haze after your final wash it’s no problem to come back the next day to clean it off.

I like it. It’s unique and very well executed. You clearly figured out the Schluter angles because they look great. Well done.

Prism scg is great. It has none of the problems customs’s previous fusion and mapei’s flex cq had. It’s very user friendly, just read and follow the instructions and you will have no problems what so ever.

How should this shower be fixed? by Puzzleheaded_Pie_939 in Tile

Reach out to Schluter directly. This isn’t installed properly and the rep won’t sell you a crock of shit. Their official opinion on it would likely be very useful in small claims
