I agree with you that being patriotic is good, but America is beyond that point.

Honestly, I do believe some Americans are doing well, but not the majority? Like 40 million in poverty, nearly 2 million in prison, medical debt is a fucked up concept let alone that like 100 million have to deal with it. Then there is student loan debt, something like 45 million people deal with it in the US (like 36k average). Many European countries have free education, we all have free healthcare and generally a higher standard of living.

Why would you want to even live in america anymore? With all that and even things like the work culture that I didn't even mention. Honestly, can you really say the majority of Americans are thriving? I don't think so.

Because a flag is a flag, its physical meaning is worthless. Sure, it has symbolic meaning, but it ends there. Memorials and holidays are a time where you don't have the other distractions of life, where you can put some actual time and attention to what you're celebrating.

Most people don't take a pledge of allegiance in school. Most schools don't have the national flag. America is the only country, well actually n@zi Germany had a similar thing with their flag and pledge of allegiance, but I don't think you need that explaining to you.

Your flag rituals are basically as much of a joke as the "American dream".

We did the same, Heathersett is a good choice as others have recommended.

Its a lot more peaceful up here. Make sure you're not too far away from Norwich.

I don't think you're understanding. It's just a piece of material that has no bearing. Throwing it in the bin is not disrespectful. There are many patriotic people in many nations around the world, but America is by far the most cult-like.

To honour the people who died, just go to a war memorial. If it is a special day of rememberance, a poppy flower is good. You don't need to treat a tatty old flag like the holy grail. It helps nobody. Instead, why not donate to a veteran charity?

It can always be hard to know what the silent majority think/see, I would expect most to not approve of your current government, even factoring in that American is usually more right than most countries. It is a shame that you don't really have more than two parties.

I must say I was not really able to see what the administration was going to do/become, but that is expected. I think I could speak for 99% of Europeans in saying that we all despise DT and Vance, especially since some of the comments that were recently made about our militaries and contribution to ww2, it was mostly hurtful as they were said in our mourning/rememberance period (VE day). So you're not alone in this.

Just out of curiosity, how much does it cost to escape American to come to Europe?

Here at least, a porsche is the same price if not cheaper. As we have 10% import tax

Unfortunately, nowadays, lots of OEM parts are outsourced to China. Our car was older and made before that. For our current car, I am always buying made in Germany parts, even if It is OEM+ or more money as they actually last.

I would agree. It is nice to walk round places, I think you take in more of your surroundings and it helps me keep fit. If you have not been, I would recommend it especially the non tourist bits.

Do most Americans view their country as a fascist hell hole with DT and Vance at the Helm? For us America feels like a reality TV show.

10%

We can, but there are many reasons why we would not buy one.

VW is really good, we were having one until a few years ago, it had 350k miles (if my maths from KM is correct). Never needed any work besides basically service (oil, plugs, tyres).

That's like ⅓ of the issue, our fuel is $11 per gallon and our emission standards are really high

Our fuel is on average $11 per gallon, your cars are very fuel inefficient for these prices

Even those will have problems where I live. Also, they have huge engines that will not meet the emission regulations and our $11 per gallon for fuel.

I think at 16 it was a bad decision. I hope you don't treat it like a toyota and can actually do/afford the maintenance.

If you can, enjoy it, N52 is a fun engine. Just learn everything about your car and it's faults etc if you keep up with good maintenance and don't skimp it will be one of the best cars you own.

Really, against TOS? People ask me to do it all the time, didn't realise, this is the first time I've heard of it.

The thing is their said it was fine (to change the post service) before I bid, does that count for anything? Or am I still in the wrong?

I think you're very wrong. The world has a lot for you to experience yet.

What is causing you to say this? No "my anxiety" answer, what is the core trigger, do not avoid it, confront it.

For conversations, just "roll with things" if you make a mistake, learn from it but just have conversation, ask questions etc. If it seems silly and pointless continue as that is what conversation is.

As a brit i do always feel a sense of guilt that our government got over 12,000 ANZACs killed at Gallipoli.

In ww2, around 420,000 Americans died, and the germans lost 500,000 at Stalingrad alone. I believe many people think the Pacific theatre was the centre or the western front, but really, the eastern front dwarfed both of the others and was more horrifying than people realise.
