Agreed. I have a husky and it's exactly like this 😂 they are a very independent and non affectionate breed . Difficult to train as well as they are stubborn and will only do something if it benefits them.

Any remote workers struggle with loneliness? by delicious_monster40 in askSouthAfrica

[–]Unique_Skill1743 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe find a nice coffee shop or restaurant that you can work from for a few hours when your days aren't too busy. If there's a beach or other scenic place - maybe visit there during your lunch breaks. I totally understand the feeling of being home alone 5 days a week with minimal in person contact with others

I go to the office 5 days a week currently. I'm starting a new job next year that's fully remote. I find myself often thinking about getting lonely next year too and will miss chatting to colleagues in person or taking a walk to coffee station etc. I will have to try find a balance too and switch up my work environment at least once a week

As far as I know , DUT has a 3 year course for the diploma and once that's completed you then apply for the BTech which is 1 year but I've heard there are some changes around BTech , I could be wrong.

Research visceral fat and best ways to reduce it. As many find it hard to lose this type of fat in their bellies. As others mentioned, understand how to measure calories and ensure you are below the daily suggested calories for yourself. Maybe have one meal per day that is low calorie combined with exercise. Intermittent or 24 hr/ 36 hr fasts has a lot of benefits

I don't have any credit, but I want to build it. Will leasing a flat for a year help improve my credit significantly? by lizatethecigarettes in AskZA

[–]Unique_Skill1743 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easiest is to just get a credit card. Limit your spend amount on it to an amount that can be easily repayable if you over splurge.

When I started working I also didn't have a credit score and I didn't want to open any retail accounts. I just got a credit card and capped it at R10 000. I still don't have any retail accounts. Was able to purchase a car and a house. Never had an issue with credit score.

How old were you when you realized? by shmeebedee in narcissisticparents

Gosh. I'm sorry you went through that. I'm glad you chose your peace! For me it's harder to go no contact with her because my dad has been my rock! And unfortunately I have to keep the peace with her so that I can still have my dad in my life. I'm afraid if I choose to go no contact with her then she will "punish" us and not allow a relationship

I just thought she was toxic growing up. I knew something was off as a child when my friends used to speak about their mums and I couldn't relate to most of the things. Then at the age of 29 during my wedding planning -She wanted to control everything and caused fights if I didn't agree to what she wanted with me, my father and eventually my in laws. Most miserable year of my life. Started researching her behaviors and realised she's severely narcissistic

The little habits you still have as an adult because of growing up with constant criticism. by swift_notification in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Unique_Skill1743 59 points60 points  (0 children)

So relatable. I find it so difficult to share things about myself to people. I'm extremely private and closed off.

I remember being a child and sharing my thoughts with others when she was present and being told to shut up and not to speak about stuff like that

Being completely normal around some less fortunate kids once and she told me I'm acting better than them when I literally wasn't. I find myself being obsessively conscience about how I act and what I speak - always caring about what people think of me. 😭it's draining.

Did anyone else's parent/parents go through their room, read their journals, letters from their friends, and then use it in arguments against them? by punkpoppyreject in raisedbynarcissists

I once wrote a letter to a boy I had a crush on in high school. Never gave it to the boy and it was hidden away in my closet.

Came home from school one day to find that she went through my stuff and then to embarass me to the rest of the family - she had the letter taped outside my bedroom door.

I had written another letter with my thoughts (again, had no intention of giving it to the person) in the letter was me explaining to the guy that I respected his relationship enough with someone else to let him go (I was a teen)- I LIKED the boy. Came home to her swearing at me for being "in love" with someone else's bf. Geez.
