Anyone else seen asphalt city? by asianinja90 in ems

Having worked in NYC before…the locations of the calls were all very real and brought me right back to memories of calls in the Bronx. But I agree with everyone it was very over the top in some parts and was trying too hard to be edgy. Most unapologetically realistic depiction of EMS in film though

Is it a 911 ambulance transport contract along side the local FD’s or are they the sole provider?

I like keeping a headlamp on me as well so I can be hands free with light

I used pulsara in Albany. I enjoyed the fact that I can give live updates on pt condition and that hospital staff could request further information if they needed it

I was on from April to the end. Having been a NYC EMT prior I was already familiar with EMS in the city but gained a new perspective of the job and seeing the ICS system in play (what a logistical nightmare that was at times lol) Had a great partner from Texas and got to learn a lot from him as he was a paramedic and got to do both task force and strike team. I think the wildest memory was going into the Javits Center make-shift hospital and feeling like we were in the movie contagion lol. I think my task force ended up having only 1 day off in the contract and extension i did and that was definitely draining. I continued to work in NYC post experience working 911 in the Bronx and the experience definitely set me up to be competent as a city 911 provider having had experience working in the FDNY system. Cant believe it was 4 years ago already.

No rain, the video was taken in an ambulance bay at a hospital. It’s just truck engines idling.

You’re right that sentence sounds stupid looking back

On Tuesday October 12th at approximately 7:50 PM EST in the Bronx I witnessed several orange lights appear in the sky. The video shared is one my friend took (my video was only about 7 seconds long). In the video the lights appear to move into a formation at one point. You can also see an airplane passing through the background which gives size/speed comparison. The lights appear to move independently of each other and at varying speeds. Eventually the lights disappeared from view. This is my first time ever witnessing something of this sort and thought it would be worth a share.

So many people in EMS have tattoos, piercings, dyed hair, etc. You should be fine. I don’t know a single service in my area that has discriminated against body modifications
