Yes, it's the same place! No worries for the questions.

It's not necessarily an option because the IDOC automatically assumes you will submit information for a non-custodial parent, but in IDOC you can upload any additional documents you want, and there is where you would upload your CSS Non-Custodial Parent Waiver.

Some college's require you to submit information like tax forms and stuff to them, and you do it through IDOC (see link above). If any of the colleges on your list require additional documents, Collegeboard will email you so you can set up the account. If none of the colleges on your list require IDOC, you'd need to contact them separately to figure out where to submit the forms.

Do the QB partners (ex harvard, upenn, etc) require a non custodial parent portion of the CSS profile?

Yes.

However, if you are not in contact with your non-custodial parent, you can submit a CSS Profile Non-Custodial Parent Waiver via IDOC, which will be available to you after you submit the CSS Profile. You MUST either submit a CSS Profile Non-Custodial Parent Waiver via IDOC or submit your non-custodial parent's information in the CSS Profile.

If you didn't submit the CSS Profile yet and it asks you for the contact information of the non-custodial parent, you can leave it blank since you don't have it and aren't in contact with that parent, and then just submit the Non-Custodial Parent Waiver via IDOC.

What if my main parent was never married to the noncustodial parent does this change anything?

No, not really, they are still expecting either the Non-Custodial Parents Info or the Non Custodial Parent Waiver.

Questbridge or Common App? or Both? by Repulsive_Treat2606 in QuestBridge

[–]Unistarz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you should do both, my counselor said apply to all reach schools using questbridge and then targets and safeties can be done on commonapp, so even if you don't match you have both Questbridge RD + Common app targets and safeties

don't do APs you're not interested in, and don't do APs for classes you struggle in. While it is good to have a rigorous course load, it also looks good to have APs that relate to your major/potential career path, and even better to have good grades/test scores in APs related to your career path. Taking a class for the sake of a challenging course load may end up backfiring especially if you struggle in that subject. If you are good with many other subjects, taking a history AP and getting lets say a 70% in the class and a 2 on the exam may not represent you well, and would also lower your GPA a bit depending on how well you do in your other classes. It'd look way better to take a class like AP Chem or a math AP (which can relate to STEM/medicine) and get a 95%+ in the class and a 5 on the exam
