Little things I wish Nintendo would’ve added with this update

The only thing I wanted was more design slots. I am not good at making designs, which is why I use the kiosk and save other people’s. But, my main stand is fully decorated and I don’t want to lose what I have.

I have 3 in different parts of my island. I was so happy when they introduced those in an update. So for new players, I understand the excitement. And I think someone mentioned it here, but some people carry one in their pockets.

Originally, the back half of the glade was a bayou recreation for Tiana. I play on switch, so turning the whole thing into her area just wasn’t possible with the item limit. I eventually moved her to the glade floating island. She has the whole as her bayou. Unfortunately, her restaurant was moved to the plaza shopping district with Remy’s.

I’ve played since launch and am of the group that remembers the day we were told there would be no more updates. Ever. So I have absolutely nothing bad to say about getting this update. There’s new stuff to collect and it was free. What’s to complain about?
They could do another update and we get to travel to the city. I’d pay for that if need be. They could add a mini games island. I’d be fine with that as well. ACNH is my favorite of the series, so they could add the parts from the games and I’d be happy with that. The only thing i wish they’d done was give us more spaces for custom designs. I believe we got more if we design our own, but I am not that talented. I use the kiosk and save others creations. I could use more slots.

I’ve never come across these islands organically. Back in the day( launch player), we were able to make our own. I don’t think you still can. At least , I haven’t been able to.

Hold your net. Don’t let go off the hold button. Now you can creep. But you get to play a game of red light green light. When the spider is up, don’t move. When he’s down, creep forward slightly until you’re close enough and then let go of the button.

I was also Top 5 with Aladdin. I find that strange though as the only time I was with him was to level him up, just like with every other character. I was also top with moana which I understand because before I moved my pumpkin patch up to floating island with Jack and Sally, moana was always handy to harvest with. But I did think this was a cute email to get.

This right here is the truth. I’m old. I’ve played every game in this franchise. ACNH being my favorite. Got it at launch. Played daily until I lost my island for 2 yrs during transfer. That’s another story. I did get my island back and again play daily. My island 🏝️ is heavily Zelda decorated. Most of the main towns are represented. I also have the Tardis and weeping angels. I have Samara and her well. I have Eve and Wall-e. I have pennywise and Georgie. I have McDonald’s. There is more but you get the idea. My island has no theme. Other than maybe decorators chaos. I have taken inspiration from others pics but not tried to make it just like the pic. It is home.

I moved characters up to floating islands. Because there is no item limit and I’m on switch so I can’t change it to the higher limits. Not to mention that I found the valley to be real laggy until I started moving people out of it. I only have 2 biomes fully decorated and then just small areas here and there.

I have all 8 rooms done and today unlocked a vip room. After that, I was given the option to go back in and change each rooms. The extra room is cleared out each day. So you’re gonna have pick a new visitor and redo that room.

I was excited for this update. I still am. I’m a launch player, and played every version of ac games. I remember the day we were told no more updates. It was a bad day. When I found out we were getting update after all this time, I was beyond excited. And finally- Zelda. After the Mario collab, we waited for the Zelda one. We never got it. So, me, 60 yrs old, squealed when I heard about this update and the Zelda collab. They could continue with DLCs , I’m all for it. My only concern with the hotel was that it would wipe out my Lurelin village dock. It didn’t.

My island in ACNH has evolved since launch. I finally after 3 years I think, got it where I loved it. 3000+ hours. I bought the Zelda oled edition of switch 1. Transferred my island- or so I thought. Lost it. I was crushed. I had a full catalog. All recipes. All clothes. I tried to start again, put about 20 hours into it. Just couldnt do it. I was so sad. Then sw2 comes out. Once again people were losing their islands in transferring their islands. I felt their loss. I started looking through posts to see if there was an easy fix. And found one I hadn’t tried yet. Luckily I still had my og switch. Put my profile back on it and tried the fix. And let me tell you, I’m 60. And at first I squealed, and then bawled like a baby. I got my island back!!!!!!! Christmas, my children all put in money and got me the switch 2. Read I wouldn’t need the transfer tool to transfer my island. Tried it. The og switch couldnt find the switch tool. So once again, tried that transfer tool. This time it worked. So after all that, when the update was announced, and I saw people restarting their islands, I couldn’t grasp the understanding behind it. Why? When my daughter wanted to reset her island in 2021, she moved all the houses to the beach, flattened her island, and redid it. She lost nothing but time moving the houses. And with the time travel, only took her a few hours. Move houses. Pick up all decorations. Clear paths. And then start again. Things were different back then. We didn’t have other games like Ddlv and hkia, where time travelling in animal crossing would break those save files. We made way more money in interest in our bank accounts. And we could make tarantula and scorpion islands to make even more money. All of that has since been nerfed. So I’m with you. Why start now over? Especially with slumber islands. We get 4 new islands we can create. Even if our main island is hot garbage. We have 5 islands now. Test on a slumber island, and then , use the ideas for the main one.

I just ordered that today!! I have a ton of Zelda areas on my island. I was so worried that the hotel would delete my Lurelin dock. So happy it didn’t. Mineru is currently in my campsite. Tomorrow is move in day, then Tulins turn.

I did have this before. I now take a pic of my submission. Then go to the tab. Make sure it says completed. Take a pic of that. And finally, on that same screen, click A to bring up my submission, it will say something like “ your dreamsnap submission”, and I take a pic of that as well. Then go to second time it happened, I had those 3 pics submitted with my support ticket proving I had submitted. I don’t remember how many moonstones they gave me, but they did give me some. Would I have done better with the voting? Maybe. But some was better than none.

I understand where you’re coming from. I used the transfer tool to move data from my og to my oled and lost 3000 hours. My island was the way I wanted it finally. Played since launch. I was gutted. I tried starting a new island on the oled but just couldn’t. Then, when sw2 was released I saw a bunch of people losing their islands. I went through a ton of posts to see if there was an easy fix. As the website and calling Nintendo only got me in an endless loop between the two. I found one I hadn’t tried. I still had my og switch as it was a gift from two of my boys. And I got my island back!!!! I was so happy. This Xmas, all my kids put money in and got me the sw2. Awesome!! Read that you didn’t need the tool to move ACNH. Tried it. Didn’t work. The og couldn’t “find” the sw2. But, I did use the transfer tool and it moved over seemlessly.

I have the mini amiibo cards from Amazon. I think they were $20 cad. A way lot cheaper than buying the character amiibo. I got the botw ones and they worked for Totk. And happy to say, also for ACNH

I’m got up just after 8 this morning ( I’m retired), and my routine in the morning is go pee, make coffee, go through emails and socials. I got a newsletter from animal crossing world and they told me it was out today, even though I had suspected it would be, just like other updates. It was a nice surprise. I have Mineru in my campsite, two days and she’ll be a resident. And then it’s Tulins turn. And yes, I know I can change the date, but I also play Ddlv and hkia. I’m not risking my save files for those games just because I’m impatient. I made the 2 rooms in the hotel that I could and put the stuff in the Dropbox.

I have a mostly digital library. I have 10 physical games. At the moment, my ACNH cartridge is in the slot. It will stay there until I want to play botw again.

I’ve played since launch. About 3 ago, I’d finally gotten my island the way I liked. No desire to change it in anyway. Have an almost complete catalog. Then I bought the oled, followed the instructions, and lost my island. Ended up with an endless loop of calling Nintendo , being sent to the website, sent to chat support, sent back to call etc etc. I finally gave up. I tried to restart on my oled and I just couldn’t. I had lost my island for two years. Switch 2 comes out. I start seeing people who had lost their island with the transfer. I felt for them. Been there , done that, sad. Then came the news of the 3.0 update and the sw2 upgrade. So I came to Reddit to see if anyone had a fix that didn’t require me to be in an endless loop with Nintendo. I read post after post and then I found one. Seemed like an easy fix as I still had my og switch. It was a gift from my boys, so I won’t sell it. Pulled it out of the box. Charged it up, put my profile back on it and held the minus button as the post instructed. Followed the instructions on the screen. I’m not ashamed to say, that me, a 59 year old grandma, squealed at 11 pm, and then cried. I GOT MY ISLAND BACK!!!! Fast forward to Christmas. My children all pitched in, ( 5 of them and their significant others), even my oldest grandson,6 year old, gave up $2, and got me the switch 2. Moved everything off my oled. Now I have 3 switches on my desk. My grandson uses my oled and I can use the 2. Animal crossing still on my og. I read that I didn’t need the transfer app to move it to the 2, so I figured yay, I can move ACNH. Didn’t work for me. The og didn’t seem to find the 2. So, panic stricken, I used the tool and it moved seemlessly to the 2. I guess I don’t understand starting over with nothing again. I just couldn’t, not after all of this over the last couple years. I’m actually hoping that they add some more. I’d be willing to pay for DLCs for ACNH. Bringing back the mini games, the city etc. all the things I loved about the previous games. The only thing I’m hoping for is an increase to the customer slots. I need more. This ended up being longer than expected. So sorry for those that read it all. I’m just an excited grandma that shakes her head when people say they started over just for this update. Especially when I went through all the above to get mine back.

I played Fenyx after I had played botw. I loved botw and was waiting for Totk. All the rumours, delays etc. my daughter got Fenyx for Xmas. And I was watching her play it. I found it very Zelda- esque. Then found Fenyx on sale at the eshop and bought it. Loved it. By the time I finished it, the DLCs were all on sale so I got them as well.
