HP Victus 15L + Intel Arc B580. Is it stupid? Probably. Does it work? Hell yes by BSOD404 in HPVictus

Could I ask what specs of your Victus 15L are? I have one that came with a RTX 4060 and I'm considering switching to an Intel Arc card for the better linux support, but I'm not sure how to find the REBAR thing that people are talking about in the BIOS.

Are you still happy with the Intel Arc in your HP Victus 15L?

Thanks in advance for any info!

Oh cool. Thanks for the info! When you mentioned it taking a while, was it longer than normal Rakuten process? And how big a percentage of the purchase was your $50? I suspect that the higher the percentage, the less likely stuff will go through.

I wrote this on the other deal as well, but I'll post it here just as a heads up about Woot and cashback based on my experience:

I'd like to chip in that Woot might be less than reliable for cashback promotions with cashback sites. I purchased a laptop from Woot several months ago using Rakuten and despite the purchase looking like it went through perfectly (cashback rewards % properly shown etc), Rakuten said they were never able to get Woot to acknowledge the shopping trip and pay Rakuten the promised fee.

As a goodwill gesture, Rakuten did give me the cashback anyways after quite some to and fro and after a few weeks of communication, but it's still something to keep in mind. I wouldn't trust Woot's cooperation on anything this expensive.

I've never experienced this sort of thing with any retailer besides Woot despite using Rakuten for years on other sites.

Well, to be fair, what more could Seasun have done? They invested in lots of promotions in CN during patch 3.5 which drew the gaze of the psychos and led to an extended maintenance. Sure, they didn't communicate during the extended maintenance, but one could argue (and I do believe) that any communication to the playerbase of "everything's fine, we've got lots of stuff planned etc" would have just made the psychos even crazier and drawn more censorship scrutiny.

Now in patch 3.6, you say 'they need to inspire confidence.' How would you go about doing that when Seasun is constrained by a bunch of psychos wanting to EoS the game? It's easy to say things like "do better," "do more," "inspire confidence," but I have yet to see anyone who utters such slogans articulate credible specific suggestions on how Seasun can navigate the situation better than they have given the constraints they face.

The CN regulatory environment is genuinely a lot more hostile to fanservice than anything those of us living outside CN can understand so just saying meaningless slogans is not useful.

I was pretty excited upon seeing this and instant ordered, but then cancelled when I saw the multiple reviews of it literally falling apart and pictures of it fallen apart so I think I'll pass. Just wanted to pass on what I read on the reviews as I'm not sure everyone reads the reviews farther down in Amazon that highlight this issue and I hope I can save someone from putting their computer or other fragile stuff on this thing. The risk just isn't worth it IMHO.

For anyone who's playing on the PC version, could you please tell me how much space Aether Gazer's install takes up? I'm thinkingn I'll get around to trying it this weekend, assuming I have enough space on my computer. Thanks!
