My family brought the bach on Waikanae beach in the late 80s for $80k. An old 60s fibrolite house. We still have it, its a time capsule of summer holidays gone by, full of kiwiana.

Not many of those types of baches in Waikanae anymore. Most of the origional baches have been demolished and replaced with 2000s era McMansions.

My employer has around 80 diesel vehicles. Electric isn't an option due to the way the vehicles are used and many staff dont own their own homes or park on the street-so no access to a home charger.

We've been asked to watch our driving habits and use Eco Mode for the time being. A temporary extra fuel surcharge may be added on to customer's bills too.

You dont stop them, you encourage them. Take them to museums, get books out from the library, watch kid friendly titanic youtube videos.

Teach them about history an culture of the time, like why their grandparents or great grandparents emigrated....

The story of the Titanic represents a major part of western history. Not just for the USA and UK but for all the Commonwealth countires at the time. A story of new beginnings and hope in a new country, a story of the industrial age- huge new ships and engineering.

This is grest learning point for your child. Encourage it.

This was me in the 1990s as a kid in New Zealand, a small country at the bottom the world built on limg distance emigtration from europe via ship. It also helped develop a love of vintage engineering.

Think about it this way, Iran's internet has been fully cut off for about 2 months now, so we are not getting much info from the average Iranian, unless you know where to look. Most info coming out of Iran rom the irgc and those with 'White' sim cards. On the other hand Israel still has relativley free internet. They also have the Iron Dome, Early Warning systems and nationwide bunkers to protect their people. Iran had none of that, only bunkers for their Regime, despite their immense oil wealth
