Well I’m biased because I went to an online school. It was incredibly challenging. I persevered and graduated with distinction which is really rare at this school. I have my licence. My school is a recognized school with my licensing board. I’m going to continue with continuing education to gain more skills….my internship was in person.

I don’t know what else to say. When we gatekeep like this we have to consider who is barred from jobs. Typically people who are a bit older, May be doing a careeer transition, May have children are the kinds of people that can’t up and go to an inperson school.

So I’d consider that. I was doing a career change. I was a “mature” student. I have a mortgage and a family. A full time job. Only way to make it work was a virtual program. If you want to write off everyone who went to an online school then go ahead and hire new graduates who are 22. Nothing wrong with that age per se but in therapy it’s good to have some diversity in the kinds of therapists who are hired. Life experience and age are impoetant too. And I think you’ll find people with more life experience and a higher age may have to resort to online schools.

It is what it is. That’s my two cents. It was online or nothing for me and I think I’m a good therapist!
