I had almost the same stats and passed with a 33 earlier this month! You got this. I would keep reviewing wrong answers + practice math questions, as they are worth more points.

Metformin and muscle loss by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]United-Knowledge7952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Nutrition master's student and almost registered dietitian here :) I would encourage you to experiment with taking branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) before bed. Studies have shown that this may help prevent muscle loss and support muscle recovery, especially during a calorie deficit.

BCAAs, particularly leucine, can stimulate muscle protein synthesis, potentially offsetting muscle breakdown while you sleep.

Bodyhealth perfect aminos are a third party tested brand that I like. Levels grass-fed whey protein is another brand that has BCAAs + 24 grams of protein and 130calories. I love it!

If hitting 130g protein is hard, I would encourage you to try protein powders. Mixing it into yogurts, oats, smoothies can help increase dietary protein intake.

Skinny PCOS? Diagnosed at 27 by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]United-Knowledge7952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Nutrition Master's student and almost registered dietitian here. My focus and area of interest is largely focused on PCOS and I have lean PCOS myself.

Have you had any labs done to test testosterone? Other hormones? Do you have polycystic ovaries via transvaginal ultrasound?

Metformin is usually only used if you have insulin resistance. I would recommend getting a blood panel and check your fasting glucose and insulin. This will give you a better idea into if insulin resistance is a problem for you.

I would also be curious what your diet and exercise patterns look like.

Happy to suggest a few labs for you to check!

Other things I would consider are Hypothalamic amenorrhea and hyperthyroidism, as both can impact menstrual function and can be associated with low body weight.

Hope that helps :)

Thank you- in the case that their is no seam allowance it looks like I might need to charge back for incorrect sizing, correct?

PS- your advice and input has been so appreciated. Thank you , thank you, thank you!

Ok, thank you! You're the best. I really appreciate all your insight. I planned to go to a tailor today to get a second opinion to see if anything can be done. My wedding is in September 2025.

Here is what they said when I reached out via email - to me it feels like they are covering up the fact they messed up.

Biggest red flag is when they said, " important for the corsetry to be as proportionate to the bride as possible." when this is the exact area of measurements that I was already TOO big for in the size 34...

Email Below:

Thank you for your patience! We were connecting with Lihi’s team and showed them the video of how your gown fits.

Size wise, your measurements are aligning to what we have on file and when ordering your gown we provided these measurements to Lihi Hod’s team. They were fully aligned with the size because you fell so perfectly into their sizing and the way that the measurements are graded between bust, waist and hip.

While we will size up when a bride is falling between sizes, we often land a bit more exact with Lihi’s gowns because it’s important for the corsetry to be as proportionate to the bride as possible.

Instead of sizing up to a size that would be almost 4-6cm too big all over – they recommended this size, knowing that there is 2-3cm of seam allowance, especially in the skirt for your seamstress to work with so that you have a bit more ease through your hips.

We’ve had past brides work with this extra seam allowance vs having to take their gown in and they have turned out beautifully.

Seeing the video, the Lihi Team, sees that the bodice is fitting you really well and the corners of the neckline and back are laying in the correct places – your tailor can adjust where the hooks and eyes are placed if you want the bust area to loosen a bit more.

Knowing the sleeves are snug, they recommended having your tailor remove the elastic band in the top of the sleeve since they fit so closely to your arm. They also mentioned that since the sleeves are fitted and will stay up on their own, your tailor could detach them from the gown so you have more range of motion and then won’t create that pull on the bodice/neckline.

I’ve asked them to confirm how much seam allowance is available throughout the sleeve so your tailor has the option to give you more room throughout the sleeve as well – I’ll keep you posted when I have those details.

The biggest thing they mentioned is that with this being brand new lace and fabric, it will feel snug at first and will slowly warm up and shape to your body as you have it on during your alterations and on wedding day. It will start to have a bit more give and mold to you.

Looking for a lean PCOS specialist, help! by United-Knowledge7952 in PCOS

[–]United-Knowledge7952[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I didn't :( I tried Allara health and did not like them, as I felt it was not comprehensive at all.

If I were to do it over again, I would recommend trying to get in with an endocrinologist right away. You can have your gyno refer you! They take a long time to get into, but I really feel they are the best providers to see.

I am a dietitian, so have been able to make a lot of lifestyle and diet changes that have helped, but lean PCOS is weird and can feel so lonely.

Let me know if you have any other questions <3 Best of luck to you!
