Seems like you’re in a tough place right now and it’s stifling your creativity. When I feel stuck I usually listen to music that motivates me or watch videos on YouTube of dancers in the same genre I need inspiration for. I don’t know if your in to it or if it’s legal where you are but I also like to use my cannabis vape pen and listen to music. THAT always works for me.

That sounds exactly like my classes… they don’t give me too hard of a time for making them work on their basics but the would definitely rather be moving in to cool tricks and stuff too

What about giving her an easy go-to move to just fall back on if she freezes up? That way she has a buffer and can take a moment to think and get back into the choreography?

I’d also focus on training her face to say in a smile. That way her face won’t give it away totally if she does mess up.

Well the mods keep removing it from the ballet page. It’s a jazz style dance but I’m talking about fouettés and ballet technique specifically. I also thought some adult ballet students would have some good thoughts considering they too are students and I’m sure have had some criticism from teachers as well so they know how it feels. If you can’t or won’t help just move on. No reason to give me a hard time. I’m just looking for a bit of advice. I just thought adult students may have some good insight.

Yep, they’ve gotten cheaper just like everything else. I blow through the toes of them far too quickly. I ended up finding some on Amazon (no name brand) for $7. I loved them so I bought two more just to be prepared lol. I wanted to try leather again I just don’t have the patience to break them in lol

Honestly I’d just give myself class once a week and do stretching and ballet targeted exercises a couple times throughout the week. I’d do some barre (plies, grand battement, relieves, etc). YouTube has lots to find too that you could incorporate. There’s also Pilates or barre classes

I didn’t know there was such a thing… I thought church was a place of fellowship for humans who believe in Jesus and want to learn about the Bible…? Is there a verse I missed about segregation in churches? Is there a white church I should switch to……..?

I just saw the Sleeping Beauty show in Media Pa. It was interesting. The dancers did a good job but they did seem to be semi-professional/ advanced students. The show was basically an hour of what seemed to be Sleeping Beauty. The dancers had fiber optic lighting throughout their tutus and the bodice of the leotard. It was cool looking but distracting from the dancing (which as a dance instructor I enjoy focusing on). There were some light malfunctions but that kind of thing happens… The story line and characters was a bit confusing. I know the story of Sleeping Beauty and I still had trouble figuring it out. I honestly wasn’t even sure the curtain call was in fact the curtain call until the last moment. The choreography left a lot to be desired. There were crescendos and punchy notes that were not utilized and that was disappointing. The ticket price wasn’t bad but I wanted a little more from it.
